Updates! New Logo, New Patreon, New Videos!

Hello Patrons!

The relaunch is almost here and I'm super excited about it. I've got some really cool physical rewards as well as some BONUS content posted monthly. I'll have more details soon. Right now I'm just waiting on the physical rewards to arrive so I can take snazzy pictures of them!

Here is what I've got going on currently.

New Camera

I bought a new camera. It's a Sony FS5 II.

I used to have a consumer-level Sony Camcorder back in the ol' Gaming Historian days and I LOVED IT. I eventually got a DSLR because the quality was outstanding for the price. But it did have limitations.

Thanks to your support, I was able to save up and purchase the Sony FS5 II. I'm looking forward to getting more interviews and some fantastic footage with this cinema-style camera!

The Story of Super Mario Bros. 3

For the past few months, I've been slowly researching for this episode. I finally think I've got everything I need and I've started writing the script. It's going slowly due to the sheer amount of information. Some stuff will have to be cut to make sure the video flows smoothly. This could potentially be my longest video.

And thanks to your support...

- I was able to license some never-before-seen footage of Super Mario Bros. 3 development!

- I got a few Japanese interviews with Nintendo developers translated

I'm hoping this will be the ultimate video on Mario 3. I'm really excited to show you all some previews in the coming weeks.

The Story of Oregon Trail

Once again, thanks to Patreon support, I will be flying out to interview Philip Bouchard, the man who took the text version of Oregon Trail and turned it into the version we all remember on the Apple II. This interview will be happening in mid-November.

Once that interview is done, I've got a few more small interviews I'd like to do, and then we can start putting the story together.

New Logo / Branding

I've had my current logo for almost 10 years now, and I've been wanting to change it for awhile. I wanted something that felt classic and educational. Check it out!

This new branding will launch when the Patreon is re-launched.

Thank you once again for all your support. Literally everything I just posted about was made possible thanks to your contributions. I'm excited about the future!

- Norman
