v0.92 Official Release Date

Good morning citizens of Heaven City,

First things first (I always have a hard time not saying "rest in peace Uncle Phil" after this...). Official release date is Friday the 10th. Now the explanation why we might need an extra week:

Ooh boy was I wrong in this one. Sooo, back at the start of March I made a (very poor, clouded possibly by recent events) judgement in which I estimated the CG team would finish the hentai scenes by April 26th which would allow us to release the patch on the 30th. On the 26th it was pretty obvious that wasn't going to happen, so I estimated "eh, one more week should be enough" and increased the deadline for the CG team by one week and announced the ETA.

Generally I believe I would be right, if it wasn't for the CG team getting completely burned out by trying to achieve an unrealistic deadline, and then another one, and yesterday we got to a point where the quality of the scenes is taking a huge hit.

Usually this happens with last one or two scenes in each patch, pressure starts getting to our team, impeding deadline and sometimes we have quality traded for speed, but usually each patch has 12 CG's, not 21...

So, that's on me. I damn near doubled the workload while keeping the same date for release, and obviously they crumbled. I mean, I personally felt it a lot, usually I'd have the mechanical side of things finished by two weeks ago and I only finished the story and current hentai scenes in my possession today. Obviously I still need the CG's to finish the last 5~6 hentai scenes but story wise, everything's done.

So yeah, after a team discussion yesterday we felt the coloring artist is getting burned trying to finish everything by tomorrow (which now I see isn't humanly possible) so I could release a patch on Friday, and the quality of the scenes was just... not the same.

So yeah, we might have a bad habit of overachieving and setting unrealistic release dates and miss them from anywhere between a few hours to a couple days, and my poor lack of judgement in March is definitely making itself felt now.

However, we also have a habit of only giving our supporters our very best work, patch in patch out, and this patch won't be any different, if any, it's the most ambitious patch we've had since the beginning. We promise it will be well worth the wait.

I also promise we'll do better in future patches to manage our workload better, I know it sucks having to wait a little extra after all the patience we had last month, but this is not for lack of will or lack of trying, it's just a reaaaally huge patch.

Conditions I stated in the ETA remain and we plan to have our schedule back on track for the v0.93 June release.
