ITS BEEN A WHILE but i was inspired to digitally remaster some more old Sovus ship designs from the archives! [Previously done Destroyer and Corvette designs included for approx. scale]

N-CFS Class Naval Cruiser - Cruisers make up the backbone of the Sov Imperial Military, and have existed since the navy’s conception. These 3700 meter long, medium to heavy tonnage Capital ships serve the standard for interstellar combat, transport, assault, and generalized naval action. Cruisers have the most varied and practical functions of any vessel - given their standardization and large scale production - and form the bulk of a given fleet; along with carriers, they also take on the most base, proactive roles in a military campaign. Whereas Carriers relate to mass unit and supply transportation and deployment, Cruisers are implemented as chief instruments for any necessity - fitting the general demands of a given operation, most often pertaining to offensive naval campaigns and planetary invasion. Defensive ops and point-protection are also assigned to cruisers for their all around capacity and sufficient armament.
In terms of operations, Cruisers are fairly balanced in their application. They are adept instruments of stellar combat, both in-atmosphere and vacuum, and are utilized in defense and escort. They provide sufficient space for storage or transport, are often assigned to task fleets for special operations, and have prominent roles in targeted invasion - including strategic deployment and orbital bombardment. Further, Cruisers can even be suited as flagships of a particular fleet or detachment. However most often, cruisers are simply the comparative naval equivalent of an infantry unit: no particular specialty, evenly armored, bristling with a variety of canon, ordinance blocs, and weapons beds, and equipped with standard stasis-shielding. Cruisers also usually carry a sufficient internal security presence, with flight squadrons and ample space for stored hardware and cargo.

N-SWS Class Naval Frigate - The Imperial Frigate is among the smallest units present in any given fleet at 1,041 meters total, and usually appearing in large numbers given their general task functions. Frigates are typically assigned general support roles, escorting and servicing larger Capital ships - most often Cruisers or Carriers. These Warships are considered non-pivotal for their diminutive stature and significance - and are thus mainly of a lighter tonnage - but their presence in a fleet larger than a task force often signifies a priority value operation [e.g. invasive campaign], given their two primary functions: supporting higher value Warships and Capital ships [for which they are appropriately armed], and storing/transporting ground units and fighter detachments for combat and assault operations. Functionally, these ships therefore take up the roles of both standard naval Frigates and Heavy-Corvettes in one light, maneuverable, and often expendable vessel.
The existence of frigates exhibits a possibility for innumerable flight strategies, as they are often tactically used as relay points between star fighters, and most Frigates carry standard ordnance, munitions, fuel, and supplies for utilization in invasions or occupation roles. Frigates can be generally underestimated for their size, but their modest proportions make them harder to detect, flank, and outmaneuver. Further, Frigates can surface-dock lower than any other vessel [with the known exception of Corvettes] unassisted and therefore provide fast-acting deployment and establishing forward command installations. Despite this variety in functionality, Frigates are limited by their classification and cannot carry out numerous functions without undergoing servicing or recommissioning.
