Small update on version 0.05 progress and some news

Yoo. Small progress update here. I know the development has been a bit slower than usual the last half a year or so. I won't go into too much detail why, but it's something I'm working on. I'll try and make sure development starts to quicken up as we head to the second half of 2021. For multiple reasons too

You see, I don't know when would be the best time to announce this so I'll just do it now. There is going to be one more version of Parental Love coming out. It'll be mostly a bug fix, small tweaks here and there, new translation options and perhaps a couple new scenes for good measure xp
It won't be coming out anytime soon though, the plan would be this:

Apartment #69 v0.05 (Currently being worked on)
Apartment #69 v0.06 (Super cool update trust)
Parental Love v1.1 (WOTY Edition?)

Hi Luxee, I'm very much looking forward to new updates to A69! I recently discovered it after playing PL to 100% and I must say; the composition and lighting of your scenes are great! I love the way you pull focus back and forth to make the scene more alive (and focused 😛) and switch renders so often when people are talking. It almost feels like an animation 🙂 It also grabbed my attention in a good way, that you sometimes use the “less is more” approach to your renders. I’m referring to when you put the MC and the one they are talking to in the background or slightly out of frame. This lets me appreciate the world around them and pulls me more into your world. Compared to other games that already have hours of gameplay or year of development (but has no music or sounds), I very much appreciate that you decided to add music so early on. It adds so much depth to the gameplay. Especially the way it dynamically changes based on the scene. A few minor gripes I have would be (I know it is only v0.04, so I will keep it short and constructive): - In my first playthrough, the tooltip “Focus NAME” didn’t make sense (I kept looking for a way to toggle whom I would focus on. Maybe add this in an intro/tutorial like the one in DMD ch1). - Maybe add a name on the tooltip for the faces, or make them less washed out (since I kept going back and forth to the CIP to see whom the icon represented, thus not saving time). - Please scale down the size of the buttons for navigating to different rooms and begin events by about 15-30% (since they cover a lot of screen-space. Might be just because it is simple artwork). - Some other games use italic text and/or a brain/lightbulb icon that is displayed in addition to putting the text in () or when a character’s inner thought is displayed (This is only to help the reading flow better). - Finally, for now, I would recommend using proper punctuation to end each sentence and perhaps … or , if they are continuing their sentence on the next frame. (I have not noticed any other typos or grammar issues yet, after two playthroughs). All in all I like what you have built already here with A69, and please understand that I’m writing all this because I care about this game, and PL that came before it, very much! 😍 Thank you for the time and passion you put into your game, and I wish you all the best with whatever ails you. PS: Thank you for the great news regarding PL 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧👧 I'm looking forward to hear more about it, when you get closer to release.
