UNCUT: Key Glock - Glockaveli

Just wrapped our full reaction to Glockaveli: The Don — no skips. This is the most contemporary Memphis rapper we’ve done so far, and it was cool comparing that to the Three 6 and Tommy Wright stuff we’ve heard before. My dad was especially into Glock’s calm presence — not a lot of rappers keep it that cool while still sounding serious and hungry. The production slapped too. Full uncut reaction without ads here on Patreon.

Awesome suggestions, love both of those albums. Will definitely have to show my dad more.

Great vid! With how quick both of you were to call 3AM in ToKEYo your favorite, it might be time to dive more deeply into the classic gritty mid-late 90s/early 2000s Memphis sound. That's when Paul and Juicy were at their best production wise, and their sound is what eventually blossomed into trap. Albums I recommend are either 1: Three-Six Mafia: Chapter 2: World Domination because that was the album right before their breakout success, so it still had the raw, underground sound, or 2: Project Pat: Mista Don't Play, because that album blends humor and grittiness in a perfect package with flows only Pat can pull off, and was the rare hood classic that also reached mainstream for the time. Pat would be GUARANTEED to be your pop's favorite southern solo artist. Production quality from both albums still sound like they came out yesterday.

The Vicki Sue Robinson sample was most recognizably used by Freeway on his song "Free"
