Thanks for that. The track has definitely grown on me. Would be curious to hear more Juvenile. (dad)

The FrontRoom

I know I’m late but I love binge watching your videos. So as far as understanding the song Ha from Juvenile, it’s really just about normal random topics from people that live in the projects. Some people brag and they’re lying as if you might believe them like when he said “you paid 70 for your Benz ha, that ain’t yours that’s your friends ha” it’s like calling him out. It’s really just a fun song with no meaning but it has the “bounce” music feel which is a staple in New Orleans.

Gator Sity

Juvenile did a tiny desk it's so good.

Veronica Estrell

Benny the Butcher & J. Cole - Johnny P’s Caddy

Mats Nesset

This one is really good. I think both of you will appreciate the creative and genius way this song is put together :)

Mats Nesset

The Game ft Lil Wayne - My Life

Mats Nesset

Busta Rhymes & Rapsody - Best I Can

Mats Nesset

PC55; Lil John (Ft. Krayzie Bone & Mystikal - I Don't Give A Fuck Krayzie Bone - Let’s Live

MusicLife

I think this would be dope.

Kenysha

Idea for a PC! Artists from your hometown or town you live in (that may not be well known)

Tnulb

Transform by Daniel Caesar 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

Adrian Dawson

You're in the right place to suggest! We will check out your suggestion next week, thank you (Kai)

The FrontRoom

Hi this is my first time posting on here so I am probably not in the right area. My apologies if I am not. I would just like to request if you both could either listen and react to the group “Camp Lo” The track I am requesting that you listen to is “Luchini AKA This Is It”. They were so underrated, but I think you might enjoy their music. Some think Jay-Z stole Camp Lo’s style. I would love to hear your thoughts!

Kimberly H

Hello.. Erykah Badu ft Andre 3000 🤞🤞

Neeka 007

PC55; Either AZ - The Come Up Or AZ - Fan Mail

MusicLife

PC 55: "Stop This Train" John Mayer

Tnulb

PC 55: Hello Erykah Badu ft Andre 3000 (One of my favorite rap features on any song) EDIT: If you’ve already heard ‘Hello’.. ‘I Want You Back’ by Infinity Song (sibling group signed by Jay Z)

Precious

In response to Dad’s comment about rap features, there has definitely been criticism around rb or pop music with rap features that do not seem to add any value to the song. Nicki Minaj, Kayne West and Andre 3000 were hip hop artist that imo would always elevate a pop/rb song with their rap feature.

Precious

I think context is missing for those who don't really 'get' that song! It was the debut of Beyonce as a super sexy solo artist AND the 1st time we saw them as a confirmed couple! 2 young superstars officially off the market could have been viewed as 'bad biz' to their respective fans but they were SO HOT together that we couldn't be mad lol! I think they both garnered some crossover fans from this (judging from every male confirmed hip-hop head I knew that was all of a sudden Beyonce fans)!!

Felicia Wiggins

Absolute Banger!! Almost 4got about this one & didn't know she passed! 😢

Felicia Wiggins

Kendrick did a Juvenile Ha flow/sample on his song "Element" off his album "Damn." Juveniles music has aged nicely. You hear his flow and samples all the time in songs

Mickey10 JB

Lets acknowledge this banger of a tune of Gwen McCrae who died this week. RIP Gwen McCrae - Keep the Fire Burning

Jim

EPMD( Da joint)

Yefet

The lost boys( me my crazy world)

Yefet

Naughty by nature( Feel me flow)

Yefet

The Roots( Don’t say nuthin)

Yefet

Please react to the Juvenille Tiny Desk. It’s one of my favs.

Precious

Doechii- Wait

WaterLord Jaz

Open theme suggestion: Kehlani Ft Destin Conrad & CHILDOFNINES - Form of You. Beautiful song that may make dad emotional lol. I don’t think I’ve seen a Kehlani reaction yet so this would be a great introduction!

Tamara Smith

Luther vandross killing me softly

Jr Rick

Wow it’s really interesting to see the crazy in love video after not having watched it in years because I’m noticing how much it’s been reference by more modern artists. Dad might prefer Deja Vu if you guys do videos again. It’s another Jay Z collab but it has one of my favorite bridges. Funnily enough the las time I heard Grace Joes was on Beyonces 2022 Renaissance album. She’s featured on a song called Move. I also heard her on a Gorrilaz song called Charger not too long ago

Cinmnapple

For pc 55: Love Me Not by Ravyn Lenae

Cinmnapple

So fire! Thanks for letting me know - I still haven't sorted out their names

The FrontRoom

I totally agree (Kai)

The FrontRoom

Cool Breeze ft OutKast & Goodie Mobb- Watch For The Hook. Also if you’re into Juvenile his hit song Back That Thang Up is equal parts fun, silly, and catchy lol. Videos are necessary for the visuals and full effect of those two songs I’d say

Drea Lansiquot

Please do more videos and include En Vogue’s My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It) & their song Giving Him Something He Can Feel, also Free Your Mind; Toni Braxton’s Another Sad Love Song & another banger of hers called Breathe Again. These videos just give you a feel for the artists’ charm as well as a feel for the times, the 90’s. Lauryn Hill-Everything is Everything was an interesting,m. Digable Planets-Rebirth of Slick( Cool Like That) was just cool vibes

Drea Lansiquot

Agreed! Think he would love Lemonade too

Emily

PC 55 suggestion: De La Soul - Pain ft. Snoop Dogg - the video is quite intesting from a social corporate political angle

JM

Pops, I'm with you on your Crazy in Love analysis. It actually got the reaction I expected from you 😅 I think Deja Vu would give you what this one didn't 😉

Brittany Butler

PC 55 suggestion: Shine - Lil Wayne and Hot Boyz. Recommend the video.

Aaisha

Let me find out Kai is Beyhive!!! Crazy in love was innovative pop in 03. It’s been copied so much that it’s not a fair representation of Beyonce anymore. She actually wanted to be more Neo Soul/funk.

Nolly Thando

Kai, that’s krayzie bone. I agree, this is one of the best bone thugs song and eazy e’s verse is awesome.

Gary Domingos

Not a bad idea to do a watch or listen of Bone and those iconic features (Easy, Biggie, Tupac)

L Makoni

I got to meet them once…although they were a lil high. 😂

Jen M

Do or Die feat Twista - Po Pimp

Jiminy

I agree with Dad about Beyoncé. The song is cool in certain situations, but it’s almost like they were trying too hard to be spectacular. It doesn’t do it for me either. 🤷🏽‍♀️😂🤣

Jen M

Thanks, Alona. I had heard that term before but didn’t have any idea of what it referred to. Just checked out Wikipedia’s article. Very eye opening and disconcerting. (dad)

The FrontRoom

PC55: Metric - Black Sheep They are probably the most successful indie rock band to come out of Canada. Their lead singer has a very nice and distinct voice.

Bdawg

YES!

Carla Davis

Love the reactions and discussions! Learned a lot from Kai's knowledge. Not to get too dark but the image of the champagne on the butt in Grace Jones' video possibly references the historical dehuminization of black women's bodies, most notably the South African Hottentot Venus, actual name Saartjie Baartman who was paraded and put on display around Europe because of her larger behind. They even preserved the features upon her death and left them up for display for 100 years. Instead of champagne, cartoons were drawn of her with a white baby sitting on her backside. The backlash about Kim Kardashian was probably due to the insensitivity of this type of history and exploitation of black women's bodies.

Alona L

It’s very accusatory ha?! 🤣

Sovieski Perez

I agree, but while the more upbeat songs don't showcase his voice as much, they are just infectious! "Any Love" and "Bad Boy" are a couple of my faves.

LB CaliMommy

haha, right. Once a Canadian always a Canadian. (dad)

The FrontRoom

Please watch Luther’s performance of A House Is Not a Home at the NAACP image awards.

Dee

It was very much giving that😂

Emily

Kai why do I feel like you're apart of the Bey Hive? 😂

Kenysha

PC 54: To Zion by Lauryn Hill or Residuals by Chris Brown.

Kenysha

Slave to the Rhythm was directed by Jean-Paul Goude, Jones' boyfriend at the time and features a spoken voice-over from actor Ian McShane, It mixes un used footage from some of her music videos, tv commercials they made together and concert footage. Oh and the style of music is a type of GoGo Music thats popular in DC

djhyjak

PC 55 Gym Class Heroes - Cupid's Chokehold/Breakfast in America Listen to the original version from their album The Papercut Chronicles

ficy

PC#55 Eric Benet - femininity Das EFX - They Want EFX

djhyjak

PC #55: Anita Baker - Same Ole Love. Also I don't think you guys have ever reacted to New Edition, so I'm going to suggest their song Boys to Men

Robin

Glad y'all both enjoyed the video and song. I think replacing "Ha" with "Eh" might make the lyrics a bit more relatable lol.

ficy

Pc #55 Sweetness - Elmiene Bad blood - Nao I sing sweetness to my son all the time. Hes a 3 year old who loooooooves R&B. 😂 Love your content so fun to share music!

PinkTater24

Since you guys like Luther's ballads more I recommend Here and Now, or So Amazing. I think you would enjoy both 🙂 I do love this track tho hahaa

Lilspiceboxx f

Yes!!!

Lilspiceboxx f

You would love, My All- Mariah Carey!!

DrFILTH

I got to see Bone-Thugs in concert with all 5 members actually showing up!!! It was great to watch!

Desertbutterfly78

Also, I think your dad would appreciate Beyoncé’s more recent stuff—her musicality has evolved so much, and her voice has really matured. Would love to see a reaction to one of her trilogy albums: Renaissance (Dance/House), Cowboy Carter (Country), or Act III (rumored to be Rock, not out yet)

CHILO

For next week, I recommend Jhené Aiko’s Drinking and Driving from Saint Heron. It’s a compilation album Solange put out through her label, Saint Records, featuring a bunch of alt-R&B artists she felt deserved more recognition at the time. Love the reactions 🩶
