In fact, Erykah Badu is singing with her. That’s where the cuts ur hearing from the intro and that interlude is coming from. Just started the video but I’m at the hardship convo—living in Philly hardship is an understatement and Jill is from the heart of North Philly which is in the thick of it all. I don’t think she talks about it because back then neo soul was all about getting us thru the hardship, escaping it thru the music—seeing the beauty in life, revitalizing your soul no matter where ur at in the world hence…Neo(new) Soul. NeoSoul is meant to uplift you thru hardship —not magnify it. Just my 2 cents. Love what u guys are doing. So happy u are seeing this side of our community. This is the heart of us, not what mainstream pushes out. I’d like to think u hear the trashy music today because of what neo soul was creating in the 2000s-it’s against the status quo to promote this for a generation.

Jill says "yes" which leads us into the next song, "Gettin In The Way", and that's her singing all the lead vocals. She just has a wide range of vocal stylings. Vidal Davis is a producer.
