You know, you are totally on point about Elvis. Many years ago a music historian guy I knew played for me a couple of tracks off a vinyl LP by a black artist who predated Elvis. It wasn’t Little Richard or Fats Domino or any of the more well-known early black rock n rollers, it was a much lesser-known singer/musician, but for the life of me I can’t remember his name. Anyway, it blew me away because he sounded just like Elvis, or more correctly, Elvis sounded just like him. But unfortunately, American TV wasn’t ready. - dad

This is a classic track and one of my favorites. I love the video too. It's so good. A couple of things to revisit - Tribe isn't from the west; they're actually from Queens. The other thing is Elvis. I don't want to downplay his contributions, but he was greatly inspired by earlier artists like Little Richard and Fats Domino. The things he did that were seen as new and provocative were nothing compared to what came before. The difference is that he had the eye of mainstream America.

You guys gotta do a album reaction of the legendary hip hop producer J dilla "Donuts" released a few days before he died in February, 2006 its an instrumental album full of short instrumentals(only one track is over 2 minutes). it is absolutely no contest in my opinion the greatest hip hop instrumental album of all time, and one of those albums that always triggers an emotional feeling in me when i hear some of the tracks as if he was sending a message knowing his time was coming soon(he was dealing Lupus and a rare blood disease before he died). Love you guys videos. Thank You.

Wow, this is one my favorite hip hop songs of all time! I learned stuff about it that I never knew! This was really a genius song…the samples, instrumentals, lyrics, rapping. The last verse was fast rapping before the speed rapping was a thing. Definitely before Bone Thugs.
Fat lip’s verse was 🔥 especially the Dopest Ethiopian part…
Impressed that Dad immediately picked up on the Hendrix sample! BTW, Lenny Kravitz was HEAVILY influenced by Jimi Hendrix. *hint hint*🤣
Anyway, thanks so much for doing this one!! Loved it!!

Your dad needs to listen to Moment in time by The Pharcyde it’s such a great song with a chill production. Everyone who agrees like this comment so we can get a video!
