Sorry again for taking so long on this one guys. LIke I said the early chapters are gonna be a little slow coming out until I can get my rythm, but I think I'm getting there! Just gotta get through some of the setup to where things are flowing again.

Just subscribed as I finished the second book tonight. Thank you for providing these early insights into each chapter of the future installments of the series. I will likely purchase some other books by Bryce on Audible in the morning, I’m all out of books!

I wish I could put in words to say more than "this is a good book series" bc they affected me differently than other "good books." Thanks for that. I was wondering 🤔 and this may have been addressed somewhere in the plethora of comments that I have yet to wade through, has there been discussion on Dent communicating with the M.I.N.D? Or that Kestrel is autonomous? Do you think perhaps Abel at some point used Dent in a similar manner to how she is attempting to exploit Rei? Just curious 🤔, though I may be way off base here.

He has the right mindset to keep it a secret while still being able to bear the weight of the knowledge. And also seeing that all the pain he is put through is happening for a reason.

Also I think it would be kinda shity to bar someone from becoming an officer just because they failed to pass the CAD assignment exam.

2023-12-17 05:03:51 +0000 UTCIt is going to be so interesting to see Hiroto's response when he finds out exactly how hard Abel has been pushing Rei. His company has a lot of weight and he has already been willing to put it on the line for Rei. Does he have the power to affect the military by threatening to withhold tech? Will it matter? Will learning that Rei is related to the Kamiya family change the way she treats him at all? Abel is just lucky that Rei has the personality that he does because the way he is being treated "for the good of humanity" could end up making someone with a more selfish personality begin to hate the very people he is being mistreated for. That would most likely turn that person into a monster, defeating the very goal that is trying to be achieved. Honestly, there is nothing to stop that person from not fighting in the war. He can be deployed but no one can make him fight. It would just be a matter of being willing to die to end the misery. Luckily for Abel, Rei is not that type of person. I really, really, really want to know who/what is above CENTRAL and who Abel has to answer to. It is very interesting to me that someone without a CAD has that much power over those who wear the CAD and do most of the actual fighting.

They *can* piss him off enough that he straight up refuses to play ball with him. They could take away his CAD, but there's nothing to indicate cads are reusable. Which means they can't possibly push him this hard forever. Honestly this is the best proof that the MIND isn't secretly running everything, is that he would know that.

Abel’s approach is clearly the way any authoritarian in the Sol system would go. Hitler’s death camps, Stalin’s gulags and so on. However it could be argued that this approach is all about preserving individual power and not about winning the war. Maybe Abel is already an archon type - no humanity left.
