Your dad is absolutely right. This new era of Carti has been completely Freeform, he’s not really following traditional song structures at all. I’ve found some of the greatest artists in my opinion do this often. Frank Ocean is a master of song structure, as well as Earl Sweatshirt, MIKE, Slauson Malone, JPEGMAFIA. FREE FORM was the perfect word for it & all these artists are amazing at that. I know you’ll eventually react to Frank 100% & when you do please don’t stray away from ENDLESS. That album has some amazing examples of the Free Form writing.
