Digging back through the old catalog. Back at one by Brian McKnight is so good!

Amelia

Yall reacted to Richie Rich!!! G eazy sampled this. His song is called west coast.

Chris U

Right, they really need to listen. Mint Condition is known for being an awesome band, also they are a have great lyrical content. 🖤 Ten Million Strong is my favorite.

metiba clark

I really hope that when y’all talk over 3/4 of a song like you did over Mint Condition, (which you also cut off too early, didn’t play the full song), you go back and listen to them again. I know you have to talk bc it’s a reaction, but I hope you listen again. Unless I’m incorrect in thinking that it matters to you. Btw… Mint Condition is in no way “poppy”. They are straight r&b and funk. I guess it’s easy to miss that if you talk over most of the song. Also, they are not a boy band. They are an actual band that plays their own instruments, including the lead singer.

HeeeyOhaji-_-

I love this song from mint condition, if I listen to it, I’ll play it like twenty times back to back

christopher scott

Mint Condition is an actual band. Not a singing group. They are playing the instruments.

Joylynn06

Back at One by Brian McKnight!!

Ashely Garner

Redman- Tonight’s Da Night Easy-E It’s On

Super hilarious

Gimme all your love- Alabama Shakes 🙏🏾 Compensating- Amine Exit - Sebastian Mikael Cry for you- Jodeci

WaterLord Jaz

Can you guys react to NF the search or biggie sky’s the limit, you guys have the best interactions on music reactions

Yefet

You should listen to Oddisee - Like Really COLORS or album version are both great. This guy is sooo underrated!

Alex Alt

Aaliyah- I Care For You Aaliyah- At your best I also think your dad will really like Aaliyah- Back and Forth Shes is the princess of R&B.

Veronica Estrell

Alright! I've scrolled this comment section and I'm happy I'm not alone with wanting Mint Condition reactions! Here are some songs: 1) "Pretty Brown Eyes" their first big hit in the 90's 2) "What Kind of Man Would I Be" mid 90s hit. 3) "Love / Hate Thing" Wale ft. Stokely. Hit from 2013. Stokely is the lead singer of Mint Condition. He collaborated/wrote with Wale for his entire rap album. Fun Facts - Stokley is also a talented drummer. Stokely and Rafael Saadiq are good friends. Many people mix them up, lol.

Hodge House

JID "Never" (one of his much earlier songs)

Rene Afon

Jill Scott "Hate on Me"

Rene Afon

Logic - Metropolis?

Robert Boyd

I think you'd really love hiatus kaiyote. They're an australian neo soul band with a really interesting sound. They've been sampled by drake, kendrick, paak, bey and jay z just to name a few and have names like stevie, prince, and erykah as fans as well. Good songs to start with would be molasses or building a ladder. Red room and their newest single are pretty fire as well.

ys

My favorite People's Choice so far. The lead singer of Mint Condition Stokley is great...they came up under Jam & Lewis. Brian McKnight is probably my 2nd favorite singer after Luther Vandross. I Seen It All is my favorite Jeezy/Hov joint. 560 State is one of Hov's former stash houses which is in the same area as the Nets current arena Barclays Center. "Nicks" refers to nickel bags & NY Knicks, an in city rival of the Nets, which Hov had an ownership stake in at the time.

King Jaffe Joffer

The Tony Rich Project - Nobody Knows New Edition - Can you stand the rain. You should do a full reaction to Maxwell essentials album because he is great but to start listen to Maxwell- This Womans Work (MTV unplugged version) For a new R&B song reaction, please Muni Long- Made For Me (BET Soul Train Awards performance) it’s got R&B fans in a chokehold right now ! Janet Jackson is amazing must do a best hits album reaction! Janet Jackson- Come Back To Me Brian McKnight- Biggest Part Of Me or Back At One This one is for Dad Roberta Flack- It might be you

Model Mantha

Rakim - Intro and 18th letter (played together) from album The 18th Letter

Jiminy

I’m here for the TSwift shade 🤣

Chase Cannon

Love all the videos A great song is Papoose - cure Styles P - all I know is pain

Christopher Lugo

Since Dad likes Jeezy, I think an album review is due. Of all his work, I think your dad would appreciate a complete listen to The Recession released in 2008. Some of Jeezy's best work, in my humble opinion. Continue to love the channel! Wish you all well!

Brittany Butler

Walk Like A Man by Murs is a fantastic storytelling track I'd love for you guys to hear. Also Time After Time by Krayzie Bone from Bone Thugs. Think the track is probably less than 3 minutes long but super underrated and different to what you have heard from Bone so far and really showcases his versatility.

Mike B

Brownsville Ka- 30 keys Joe budden- Pray for me K-Rino- Amnesia Would love to see you guys react to any one of these!!

Izzy

Sza song Prom

Susu

*Brandy’s Full Moon

Susu

My 2 suggestions are: My my my - Johnny Gill Poison - Bell Biv Devoe ....as an extension of that maybe do a people's choice episode that's all New Edition or their members solo songs.

Amanda B

Jin, Aja Smith-love story Jin is the first Asian rapper. He's worked with Kanye and jay-z in 2004. He also goes by MC Jin but that's his newer songs. I think his older stuff is better.

Ola Zanea

"Two Occasions" by The Deele would be a great one. It was released in 1987

jeff baker

Nate Dogg feat. Snoop Dogg Never Leave Me Alone

Fade’sha Harris

U guys were so busy listening for music samples on the Funkadelic that u missed the lyrics!! 😂 They were saying " something about the music.. she'd always make me dance.." Rich said 'something about the west coast.." 1st time hearing Rich song but I immediately recognized Funkadelic song - and Montel Jordan "Let's Ride" of course lol 😊

Felicia Wiggins

Please react to Yebba - Evergreen or My Mind

Traci

I was gonna read EVERY comment until I got to this one! 😂 Thanks for saving me the typing!! 😂

Felicia Wiggins

Really enjoying your people’s choice reactions. May I suggest the following two songs this week: Cristion Full of Smoke- Roc-A- Fellas signed rb duo) Maze-Golden Time of Day As always, thank you for the great content!

Gabriel Rizo

ficy

When I’m in your arms- Cleo Sol

Jai Husband

Peace and love to both of you! Thanks for checking out Richie Rich! He’s collaborated multiple times with Tupac before his passing and his tribute doesn’t mention how he died or what happened . It’s more of a dedication to pac but doesn’t mention him, and is referring to a question that many people may ask in similar situations he’s come across. It’s a beautiful song and I also can’t help to shed a tear or two while listening to it. Would love to see y’all react to it eventually 🙏🏼 also have a few suggestions besides the ones I mentioned before like… 1. The Dove Shack - Summertime in the LBC ( G funk vibes) 2. Warren G - If We Give You A Chance ( feat. Slick Rick) Honorable mention: 1 Jackers - I Can’t Fix It 😎

Htx_Screwww

We keep hoping they do Goodie Mob…lol!

Jen M

Pretty Brown Eyes is such a rich and beautiful song! I’ve always loved it! And I really enjoyed that Richie Rich song. They sampled several songs, but I can’t quite place them right now. My official suggestions for next week: ✅ We’ve Already Said Goodbye by Pieces of A Dream. It’s from the School Daze soundtrack from the 80s, but the song is an absolute masterpiece, imo of course! :) Then: ✅ Outside Your Door by Meshell Ndegeocello. This song was sampled by Brian McKnight for Anytime. So Meshell did it first. She also was one of the pioneers of neosoul imo, her debut album Plantation Lullabies is *chefs kiss* Thanks guys for another great video!! 👏🏾

Jen M

1 Rah Digga- Tight 2 Bahamadia- 3 The Hard Way

Zina

Thank u for listening to my last suggestion and it was my B-day!! Suggestion for this week is Tony Toni Tone- lay your head on my pillow. Please listen to the full song for the great bass played during the breakdown💯❤

Sheivon Jackson

The sample from funkadelic is the chorus where Richie Rich says something about the west coast and Funkadelic says Something about the music.

Sheivon Jackson

Trying to suggest stuff from eras in hiphop people rarely touch! (i suggest the videos for these cause it will provide some insight to the groups) X-Clan - Funkin Lesson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7g_e6RJRCPk Marley Marl - The Symphony https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiUsXm-ElOc

djhyjak

A couple of suggestions: James Blake - Retrograde Woodkid - Pale Yellow

André Monteiro

Jodeci - Cry for You Tupac - Until the End of Time

Adrienne

I’ve been around here since there were barely any comments on your Patreon videos lol Glad to see the come up! I just have two requests… Cory Gunz funk flex freestyle And A Ward VS Aye Verb Both are on YouTube Peace and Blessings y’all!

Shawn Cannon

The main "interpolation" of the Richie Rich song was the "there's something bout the west coast" taken from that Parliament song "something about you" was the line it was mimicking

jeff baker

Mint Condition is MY GROUP!!! Love their album DEFINITION OF A BAND 🩷

Lady LaReux

Tevin Campbell - Tomorrow (This was when he was a good. This song was llayed at almost every graduation in the 90s and early 2000s) Michael Jackson-Butterflies

Nate W

Ne-Yo has a song called Do You that is the same topic as Anytime by B McKnight and to me it is as equally beautiful.

Jen M

EXPLANATION ON JAYZ VERSE ON "SEEN IT ALL on "seen it all" EXPLANATION ON JAYZ VERSE ON "SEEN IT ALL" :    So on Jayz' s verse he is actually rapping about his life as a drug dealer before rap. His references on his trips to Va (virginia) and Pa (Pennsylvania) are two of the more well known places where he made  alot of his drug money. This is a well known fact about him in his earlier life. His verse is full of factual events that actually took place like when he reffered to losing 92 bricks. Which also happened. Losing that many kilos should have finished his whole operation but instead he bounced back and went twice as hard and got it all back. Also the EXPLANATION ABOUT his reference to STATE ST. , THE BROOKLYN NETS AND THE KNICKS are all related too. JayZ moved to 560 state st. In Brooklyn during this time when he was prospering in the drug game. Fast forward 20yrs later He  buys  "THE NEW JERSEY NETS" and takes tge team and moves them to BROOKLYN and tgey became the "BROOKLYN NETS" to rival the slresdy established NEW YORK team, THE NEW YORK KNICKS. and not only did he buy an NBA team and move it to Brooklyn his home town ,and build the Barclay's center which is the Nets Home arena but tge location In which they built the stadium,  you can actually see it from his old apt. On 560 State st.

My Mind is so heartbreakingly beautiful

Elizabeth Kelly

Great video! Maybe you guys could do a doubleheader of the Knowles sisters, Beyonce and Solange Love on top-Beyonce I decided part 1- Solange Love on top is a classic and I decided has a 60s vibe to it that’s great.

Elizabeth Kelly

Theres a highly anticipated documentary coming out on Hulu that highlights a major event in black music and hbcu culture in Atlanta called Freaknic. (combining the popular dance in the nineties "The Freak" with "Picnic") It ran from 83 to 93 and played a major part in bringing southern rap music to the mainstream. Would love to see an entire segment on some of OUTKAST's later work...but my 2 picks are 2 songs off of their double album "The Way You Move" and "Hey Ya".

The Afro Buddha

Suggestions: Slum village - Climax (the group jdilla was in) Terrace Martin- witchcraft

Gemintheye

Justin Timberlake has a Brian McKnight vibe

metiba clark

Awe, exactly I posted this before I saw your comment. They are totally underrated. Seeing them live incredible

metiba clark

Absolutely love Mint Conditions they are a true band. The lead singer plays drums. I love TEN MILLION STRONG and WHAT KIND OF MAN WOULD I BE

metiba clark

Cass Chad

The song let’s ride was sampled in West Coast by G Eazy

Kelsey Lewis

ebony alburdy

Great episode guys. My suggestions for next week are. 1. Devin the Dude- Almighty Dollar 2. E-40- Rappers Ball

Richard and Raya

Brian McKnight and Mariah Carey have a sung. It will give you goosebumps. Their voices together...

ebony alburdy

Please if you have not already check out these songs! Cell therapy Goodie Mob Xxplosive Dr Dre ft Hittman Six-Two, Nate Dogg & Kurupt

Kelsey Lewis

"So it's only right I'm still tossing round nicks (Knicks)"...I got to this point and had to stop to comment. So without doing any research, I think Jay Z was referencing drugs (selling nickel bags maybe) BUT also he was part owner of the Brooklyn Nets so this was a competitive jab at "tossing around" that team PLUS obviously the fact that he himself is a baller (I probably dug too deep on this one) by the fact that he OWNED PART OF AN NBA TEAM. Jay Z is brilliant man

Tnulb

Great video I want to recommend La-di-da-di by slick Rick its the most sampled hip-hop/rap song I want to see if Kai or even dad would recognize some of the lines

Anthony Mendoza

I was so excited for Dad to listen to Maxo Cream Grannies lol. But here’s my next suggestions: Jadakiss and Styles P “We gon make it” Kendrick Lamar “Ignorance is Bliss”

Brandon Jackson

Wanted to note that the members of Mint Condition compose and play their music. They are truly a band vs. a group.

LB CaliMommy
