You should introduce your dad to yellawolf, massive discography and amazing kadence. Also he was introduced by Em.

You should do stay wide awake. Every line on the 2nd verse rhymes with the previous one. And not only on the end of the sentence, but also in the beginning and the middle

Bert

I was hoping you would have dissected the lyrics for your Dad a little more. Such as, “I’m really a sheep in wolf’s clothing.” The saying is, a wolf in sheep’s clothing. But he is saying that he’s the opposite. He appears to be a wolf, but really he is a sheep. He is really a good guy who portrays himself to be a bad guy. That’s why he said, “The press blows up this whole thing, because they don’t see that I’m wounded.” He was addicted to drugs really bad at this time. And feeling the weight of being musically irrelevant. He felt like he was fading away both personally and professionally. And the song is admittedly contradictory. He’s crying out for help, while also giving a big middle finger to everyone who doesn’t see him for who he truly is.

Rock Bottom, Till I Collapse, Same Song And Dance would all be in my top five favourite. But it’s so hard to choose. Thanks Oshio!

The FrontRoom

Thanks for doing this Kai. I feel so happy I suggested it and you did it. Felt like I won the lottery. What are your top 3 Eminem songs of all time ? Mine are - Till I collapse, sing for the moment, no apologies.

Oshio Adams

Love this song, super underrated. If your dad likes the storytelling you should cover mockingbird, cleaning out my closet, etc

Richard Birchall

I think your dad has a point about beats that's why they have “type beat” on some YouTube production cause rappers tend to get inspiration on certain production and that's what's most common on their album like kanye with his voice samples

Brandon Wheeler

Good ones too! Royce is kinda slept on at times. He is a genius story teller

Tnulb

Or shoot back 2 (dear officer) by Royce is another incredible story telling track when it gets into the beat switch

ryan cortes

‼️Please react to Solange ft Lil Wayne - Mad .. I think your dad would love it. You should also make sure you mention that lil Wayne attempted su*c*de at 12 yrs old but was rescued by an officer who became like an uncle to him. It’s mentioned in the song.

Destini

Great review! Kai, I think you're correct, dad seems to like a good story and Eminem does have quite a few. Some as Slim may be a bit much for gimme though but "Brain Damage" might be a good one. OR "Tabernacle" by Royce Da'5-9 since he's a close friend and collaborator of Em's. "Part of Me" by Royce would be absolutely SHOCKING but a story still. I think that one would ve entertaining though

Tnulb

Would be cool to do WAV Files by Lupe Fiasco, Road to Zion by Damian Marley & Nas, and maybe something from Elzhi’s ‘Elmatic’ album since your dad liked illmatic.

Snail Cage

I think a good one for Jay Z would be the one with Lincoln Park I think it’s important

Rafael Gutierrez

Off the bat Let me say I know you know your Rap cause this is a more underground Eminem song . This one is his Really MC side that shows his lyricism So many sides to Eminem that’s why he’s great

Rafael Gutierrez

thanks for the quick reply! and also... my bad! i have trouble differentiating american and canadian accents. i'm sure you guys mentioned that you're from canada before but i must have missed those videos. agreed on jerseys being expensive, i haven't bought one in years (most of the jerseys in my life have been super cheap, badly done knockoffs from street markets in turkey or hungary when we were on vacation there anyway haha) - never had any luck in thrift stores either, but i'll keep an eye out from now on!

Julian

That is a very reasonable question Julian haha. I am a fan of football. But because jerseys are so expensive I just go to thrift stores and sometimes I can get nice kits for cheap. When I was younger I was a Bayern fan, however now I’m not drawn to any team in particular. I do follow the EPL though. And also - we are from Canada!!! Thanks for the comment

The FrontRoom

kai, i'm interested, is the football gear you own of clubs that you like/support or is it just stuff you find pretty? bournemouth, rangers, bvb (think there was more)... pretty random list! anyway shout out to you being a football fan in america

Julian
