As such, I had a lengthy interview with Steve Barthelemy (Lord Knight), who is a massive anime fighting game player, both at the time of Persona 4 Arena and still is today. This is the unedited stream of it, for the sake of general transparency.

Yeah it's super fascinating considering how many adaptations Arc Sys has their hands in now. Off the top of my head I know of three other notable ones (Dragon Ball Fighter Z, DNF Duel, and Granblue Fantasy Versus), all of which have very different styles but a very specific kind of "ArcSys" design.
