Dad's First Time Hearing Jill Scott! "A Long Walk"

If you guys do listen to He Loves Me, I recommend listening to the album version then watching a video of the live performance with the kid orchestra. It's phenomenal!

Thanks, Edward. Kai actually picked it out for me. Feel like a million bucks when I’m wearing it. - Kai’s dad

We just did The Way but He Loves Me seems to be one for the shortlist. Thanks, Kenysha! - Kai’s Dad

I am totally lovin’ Neo Soul! We’ve barely scratched the surface so thanks for the recommendation. - Kai’s dad

I always look forward to your reaction videos, especially the Neo Soul genre. He Loves Me by Jill Scott should definitely come next. If you could react to the live version with the orchestra, you would be absolutely gobsmacked!

Omg! Yes yes yes! Rapture is one of my all time fave albums!

Ayeisha Perry-Smith

Yes! I’ve heard and enjoyed her version.

Idk if you've done Warren G yet, but Do You See is a great song with Nate Dogg Edit: Nvm I remember yall did regulate. Still a great artist to expose dad to!

So glad you both enjoyed Jilly from Philly! Hoping the next song is He Loves Me. As much as I love A Long Walk, He Loves Me is...different. And special.

Kenysha

There’s a live version of you got me where Jill sings the hook and it’s phenomenal

I hope you guys have a chance to cover some Anita Baker (Rapture album) and Luther. Both beautiful voices as well.

I have been anticipating this review! Just a little back ground since neither of you know much about her..she was founded by Quest Love from the Roots while performing spoken word in Philadelphia. She teamed up with the Roots, wrote the hook on “You Got Me” and the rest is history…I saw her live years ago. Hands down the best concert experience. She has a beautiful gifting of infusing spoken word, jazz, opera, hip hop and R&B. I’m excited to hear your future reviews of Jill’s music.. hopefully He Loves Me next:) P.S. loving the extra details and formatting changes
