Not surprised, really, to hear that account, because Pete Townsend is on the record saying he had little regard for Led Zeppelin! I did listen to Where Did You Sleep Last Night. Slow and haunting. Itβs fantastic. Thanks for recommending. (Kaiβs dad)

This is great! I agree!, Blues is one, if not, the best genre for lyrics! So relatable no matter the context. Great suggestions Dad, can't wait to dive in! It feels like I'm being sent on a musical quest! π X

According to Wikipedia, "One account of how the new band's name was chosen held that Moon and Entwistle had suggested that a supergroup with Page and Beck would go down like a "lead balloon", an idiom for disastrous results." I'm not too familiar with Led Zeppelin, but I recognized Gollows Pole when I heard it. Then I listened to the Lead Belly version. Really kind of neat to hear the evolution of a song through time. Did you ever get a chance to hear Where Did You Sleep Last Night? It was part of the MTV Unplugged series. You can listen on Spotify, of course or you can watch the live performance on YouTube.
