EARLY ACCESS: STORMWEAVER II - Chapter 5 [ROUGH]
Added 2022-01-07 17:26:15 +0000 UTCHere we go friends! A few rules & reminders:
- Chapters will be dropping as Bryce completes them. That means anywhere from every 1 to 2 weeks on average, though sometimes waits may be longer.
- Recall that these are rough chapters, with no editing other than a single pass-through as Bryce writes.
- On a similar note, we are not asking for advice or corrections at this time. If Bryce wants feedback, we will certainly reach out, thank you!
That's it, so without further ado... Enjoy!

2022-01-21 18:53:18 +0000 UTCI wish he had straight up come out and asked what country the headquarters of the Kamiya corporation were based out of on Earth 🤣

2022-01-09 00:16:30 +0000 UTCInvoluntary defenestration. Lol Also, I have to add that anytime Guest spoke all I could hear was Luke Daniels' voice reading the lines for me. He really did a great job with him.

2022-01-08 12:53:19 +0000 UTCIt is a stronger way of saying that. Cultural and languages places different stresses and pronunciation on different letters and sounds. Similar to how you might tell how someone says the name Sarah, Sara, Sahra, Serra, Saira, Sarra. Technically these are all various ways of saying the same name. But each of these spellings denote a region, language and dialect. Now most people will just not care or not notice the various subtle differences. But if you speak to someone and you mispronounced their name they will catch it and might rant at you for a bit for doing it. But if you are Reidon or someone who talks with people with a lot you generally pick up that variation and emphasis.

2022-01-08 09:32:07 +0000 UTCI just had the impression that Bryce was getting at something stronger than “it is also a Japanese name”. Or if that is what he meant, saying it that way seems more clear?

2022-01-08 07:44:30 +0000 UTCProbably the guy in the first book what said he shared Reidon’s facial features.. the white hair, scars. And being thing are superfluous to that match….it’s in the section where he is first brought to kamiya corps attention.

2022-01-08 05:49:45 +0000 UTCYeah I’ve got no clue what a “phonetic base” is but I’ve pretty much equated it to how both “Reidon” and “Kamiya” sound both fairly Asian. I’ve never really gone past high school English so I have no idea what a “phonetic base” is. It’s all nonsense to me. Eh.

2022-01-08 05:34:11 +0000 UTCThat ending was so hype that I accidentally wacked myself in the snout via excited flailing

2022-01-08 02:27:26 +0000 UTCWho do you think is 5'7 with shaggy white hair, thin, and scars there? Even if his dad is Japanese we don't know what Mom looks like? It's possible he doesn't look like either. Both my brother and myself look like our Grandfather's than our parents
Corwin
2022-01-08 02:24:56 +0000 UTC"Tinkerbelle Nike Euralisia". Sounds so much better than the Placenta, Twelve Days of Christmas, and Sexbot I have met for weird child names. I really wonder on how we allow people to name children these things legally

2022-01-08 02:21:18 +0000 UTCOnly worked with the no lying rule. Otherwise Jasper could of spun it like a record. It did enhance the dialog. But without knowing all the rules Jasper agreed to. It was fine

2022-01-08 02:09:27 +0000 UTCI assume that what this refers to is the fact that both "Reidon" and "Kamiya", when broken down into their phonetic syllables ("Ri" with an emongated vowel sound, "do", "n"; and "Ka", "mi" with an elongated vowel sound, "ya") all exist as syllables in the basic Hiragana and Katakana character sets in the Japanese language, without resorting to unusual combinations of characters. For some of my Japanese friends who have been trying to pick names for their children, this has presented problems because families can get quite hung up on the characters used to write someone's name, and the fact that they should draw from the same traditional character and syllable sets, so that the name when written in Hiragana or Katakana "looks right". Comparing this to the western arguments about whether to call a girl "Sarah" or "Tinkerbelle Nike Euralisia" makes me think we have it so much easier...

2022-01-08 01:07:09 +0000 UTCIt wasn’t clear to me HOW Kamiya and Reidon have the same phonetic bases. Could you please make a note to footnote that in the real final book?

2022-01-08 00:18:38 +0000 UTCNo dice, year ones don’t get past globals. His sister will be in Sol. Unless he gets bumped into regular tournament instead of the year one brackets than he won’t see her for a while.

2022-01-07 23:52:44 +0000 UTCOoh I hope the next chapter is Jasper and Hiroto (maybe the “bodyguard”) in a space taxi or whatever talking about the meeting. That would be awesome!

2022-01-07 23:48:28 +0000 UTCWas almost hoping they would have come out and said it, but I understand this is about moving the plot along. Glad Rei is suspicious and heading in the right direction in why they offered him a sponsorship. I’m hoping he ends up meeting his sister in SCTs.

2022-01-07 23:12:27 +0000 UTCIt was excellent!! If I was Rei, I would research Kamiya Corp. which would lead to a picture of a man who looks strikingly similar to him.. hmmmm
