I totally understand the pressure to repeat yourself as an artist. I used ai to generate imagery for people who pay me for dumb painting/T-shirts and it saved a bunch of time. Artists have always had to create bad work for particular rich clients in the name of survival, happy for ai to make that part of life less time consuming.

It seems like every remotely left wing artist that I follow is of the stance that AI is evil and you’re a bad person if you use it and I just think it’s naive to think we can close Pandora’s box and get rid of it by protesting loud enough. I think a lot of ways AI has been developed and implemented are extremely unethical but if we die on this hill and refuse to engage with it we will be left behind just like the people who protested digital cameras and photoshop.
