Patreon Update - December 11th 2023

Goooooood afternoon beautiful Patreon family,

I am writing this while on the train (my first undisrupted one in 2 weeks!!!!!) back from London after one of the most special evenings of my career as a creator.

The event itself was a little bit of a shambles however, what I am taking away from this experience is that for the first time ever I got to watch my film on the big screen in front of an audience and it was very well received.

My friend Emma who I took to the event with me was balling her eyes out for the whole video. It was quite the special moment.

It would have been great if the event was a little better organised but it is what it is! What an experience nonetheless. As of writing this post they have just announced the winners...

"Thank you, Alice Oseman" has won BEST SHORT DOCUMENTARY!!!!!! 😭😭😭 now I am crying on the train! 🤣😭

I am leaving the event feeling very accomplished and happy with the journey that led me here and I am excited to progress even further down this path in 2024. 

2023 has been a whirlwind of change and eye opening moments for me and I feel like I've travelled down 10 different paths while I've been navigating what it is I want to pursue and I feel like I am coming into 2024 with a much clearer direction. I cannot thank you all enough for all the love and support you have given me since we opened this patreon mid-2022 and as I've said previously I am looking forward to offering you great content in 2024.

But for now - whats next for the rest of this year?

This trip to London is the last one I will be taking for this year and being here the past 24 hours has made me realise just how much I needed to move out the city. I have just 2 more client projects to deliver over this next week and then all my client work is wrapped up and I won't be taking on any more client work for the foreseeable future as I want to focus on my work here on Patreon/YouTube but also the long form work I want to start next year around the Lavender Scare.

I will be working hard the next couple of weeks to get a buffer of videos lined up for the channel as over the Christmas period we will be running a slightly reduced upload schedule so I can enjoy the festive period with Reiss and our family as he is only back for 4 weeks and then he's not back again until May 2024.

That's all for today - I need to get cracking with editing the latest episode of Fellow Travelers for YouTube so when I get home this afternoon I can film some more content for you lovely people! ♥️
