I’ve loved 80’s new wave, dark wave, post punk since the actual 80’s but I didn’t know of The Sound until recently thanks to a comment on one of your videos. Maybe they never hit US dance clubs or radio? In any case this is a great album; glad you enjoyed it!

Would have been good to delve a bit into the band a bit especially Adrian’s personal struggles with his mental health, which sadly led to him taking his own life in 1999. He was an amazing songwriter. Their first album Jeopardy is also amazing…so worth a Listen.

2025-01-03 11:26:37 +0000 UTCClassic post-punk. The six song EP "Shock of Daylight" is my favorite release of theirs, but my favorite Sound song is "Total Recall" (from their 4th album I believe). Great band that should have had more success.

2024-12-30 18:57:22 +0000 UTCI swear "The Fire" and "Silent Air" are probably my two favorite tracks in sequence ever. Just perfection! Also, totally agree with you on "Fatal Flaw". It's otherwise a flawless album.
