Oh man. How come you haven't done "Liege & Lief" or "Fotheringay" yet. It's all so great! Sandy Denny, the greatest voice of that generation (although less should be admired of her person in her latter years).

I fell in love with this album not long after you reviewed it but I never found or saw your actual reaction to it properly cause the video was blocked or something great to see you enjoyed it as much as i did.

I owe the album. But I did not listen very often to it for several reasons. Too many CDs, buying it long after discovering the band in the late 70ies, MY Fairport had no Sandy Denny on it, I was used to male voices only. So your choice gave me the opportunity for the first time to really savour this album, diving deep into it - as it usual happens with your audio and lyrics observations. "Sailor's Life" was done, if I read the sleeve notes correctly, in one take in the studio. "Cajun Woman" was done in the style of Cajun music, where you more or less always find an accordion being played (But I think we all agree that the production quality is worse than possibly imaginable!). If you want more Cajun music, just ask for hints ;-) And this brings me to recommend to you, out of their still ongoing output of new stuff (!), their 5th album, the one after the Sandy period: "FULL HOUSE" (now being only five instead of six members, haha), which contains another long song of about 9 minutes: "Sloth", which is more or less my favourite work of the band. Do the whole album, you will love it, I am sure. Last paragraph, covering some history: 1) Their long time bassplayer is one of the Daves (Mattacks/Swarbrick being the others) playing in this band at some point, Dave Pegg. Yes the one Tull was allowed to have amongst their members and fun to watch playing live - very funny and amiable person. 2) They are the founders and organizers of the annual Cropredy Festival, which hosts a lot of upcoming and/or famous folk bands, including Tull sometimes as these are also well-known for their folk-like albums. So, if you ever plan to go to the UK, time it so you can visit this festival. I did it once, and it is something I will never forget. I even had a long beer-accompanied talk with Peggy then :))) Meaning, you might be able to meet and greet the musicians easily by accident if you are lucky. Enjoy :)

Love the interruption JP this is an autopsy of a dead relationship

Just heard Autopsy and this is not my kind of music but the subtlety of the performance and interesting journey or switch is seamless. Sandy Denny has such a natural and 1-1 delivery it’s hard to describe but so natural yet assured what a superb singer

Warren Butson

Sandy Denny without a doubt the most beautiful voice in rock history
