Free Transcription: Emily Remler - "Daahoud"

Here's a transcription I have been aching to do for a hot minute, Emily Remler's dazzling solo on Clifford Brown's "Daahoud".

Remler was completely self-taught from listening to Wes Montgomery. She showed promise of being one of the torchbearers of neo-bop and traditional bebop during the age of fusion, but her career was cut tragically short in 1990 when Remler died of heart failure in Sydney, Australia.

Since then, jazz guitar has been lacking a female superstar like Remler. As drummer Terri Lee Carrington said, “I’m looking for the next Emily Remler. For some reason, the guitar just seems like one instrument that women aren’t approaching as much. Maybe Emily’s example can inspire more.”
