Delaying the explanation is no problem. If that trick is used, for example, 4 times in a run and on the first time its used there is a unique trick happening at the same time, sure delay it. explain it later when there is time to talk about it. Pause or slow motion should only be used if you want to highlight that trick. If it is that one big thing in the run.
About the video in itself I sadly cant offer anything constructive. I can watch speedruns of a game I dont know and be entertained. But here it didnt work. You lost me in just a few minutes because I couldnt follow what was happening on screen and after a very short while I was bored by watching things that didnt make sense to me. All I got was "we allways use this easy elevator trick to go out of bounds and run to the exit". This for a few times and I was out. In Doom2016 I disliked the run but I knew the game, so I was able to follow the action and had the mental capacity left over to listen to your jokes. Here I was too confused to laugh about jokes.
Not saying its bad, just saying it didnt work for me.

I really liked this one too!
I agree with you on the slip clip, with a possible third thing to consider being to replay some of the original clip in a corner that you referenced and asked us to notice when you eventually explain. With that said, I don't think the pauses are something negative, but I can see your point that this preserves the flow in another way that might be nice, especially if there's been some pauses already in a short amount of time.
WE WANT A LOT MORE FAN FICTION FRIDAY
