Speedrun Explained 52, 53: Update 2

Hey all! Quick update for you on the two videos in production at this moment, as well as an update on what's coming after these two.

First is the Any% run of Super Mario Odyssey. This script is really really packed, like, there's a lot of tech in this run and it's super fast paced. The draft script is just being wrapped up and sent to the runner today, so hopefully recording and editing on it will be beginning late this week. I'm taking a much needed one-week vacation next week, so recording and editing will be continuing when I return to working on the 26th of June! I talked a bit about it in the month-end recap that I do for the $9 tier, but I'm planning on changing up the intro just a little bit for this video with delivery, you'll see what I mean when the video is released. I also focused a bit more on how lines are delivered when writing this script and the general tone of commentary with it being mostly what you're used to but with a bit more shitposty/aggressive than usual. Hard to explain what I mean by that but writing it made me laugh a lot to myself and I hope the humor of it translates well to the final product.

Other than the SMO run, the other video in production is the Any% run of Alien: Isolation.  Last week I had a call with the runner and another expert on the game/run to go over everything, so that run is all set to begin writing for once things die down on Odyssey. I personally find it to be a really interesting speedrun due to how awful it is for runners to run. Thinking that that'll be the focus of the commentary, of course explaining the tricks and all, but what makes this run so hard for runners to do and complete.

As of right now, Odyssey should be wrapped up and released publicly by mid-July, the 15th at the absolute latest, so expect to see it on Patreon during the weeks preceding that date. The Alien video will likely be releasing in late July.

With the release of these two videos, that'll make three videos videos in a row that were chosen by you all as Patrons. These were all chosen before the Patreon restructuring. When I announced the restructuring, part of it was noting that every other or every third video moving forward would be chosen by you all as opposed to having it be tied to Patreon goals. I'm going to be sticking with that, but since I'll have made three videos in a row chosen by Patrons, I think that I'm going to pick the next run or two myself for videos after Alien, and then we'll do a poll again. I haven't made a video for a run that I've chosen in quite some time and have a few that I want to be sure I cover. More updates on that in the future, but wanted to let you all know what the general gameplan is with when the next poll will be.
