"Patron's Choice 2" SPEEDRUN EXPLAINED Poll!
Added 2022-01-26 17:08:11 +0000 UTCHey all! The time is finally here for the second every Patron's Choice SPEEDRUN EXPLAINED poll! Below are the choices, as submitted by you Patrons. Choices are listed in alphabetical order, and you can vote for as many as you'd like!
There were a lot fewer runs suggested than last time, so we're able to have the poll up on Patreon. Plus there had to be some tweaking to some of the suggestions. Not everyone suggested a category for their game, so I had to pick one myself. In some cases, there are several potential categories that could have been chosen, and they're of speedgames that I'm not familiar with. In cases like this, should they be win the poll, I would likely defer to the runner that I'd be collaborating with on what category would be most entertaining to make a video for. An example of this is Outer Wilds, where no category was suggested, but most major categories fall under the time requirement, and with each category likely providing something different for a video.
Also, some runs suggested were over the time, and unfortunately I'm currently not able to take on any runs at the moment that are over an hour in length so I chose an alternative category. The main example for this was Hollow Knight which had True Ending suggested, which has a length of 1h 4min. I know that just a few extra minutes might not seem like a lot, but it really does add up with added workload, plus the run is 1h 17min without loads, which more accurately reflects what the length of the video would be, if not longer. For example, runs on the channel that are around 35 minutes in length, usually end up being closer to 50 minutes, so a True Ending run video would most likely be a 90+ minute video. I definitely am not able to take on a project of that size at the moment, but maybe in the future we'll be able to expand the scopes and take on a larger project like that every once in a while.
I just wanted to explain this all in case some of you looked at the options and said "hey that's not what I suggested!" I understand frustrations that might arise from this and wanted to explain the reasoning for not budging much on rules with it. They're there for a reason, mainly to make sure that I'm continuing to move at a reasonable pace and don't stagnate too long on one topic, which leads to me getting burnt out. I apologize if you're disappointed but I hope you get where I'm coming from!
