SPEEDRUN EXPLAINED 20: Update 1
Added 2020-02-20 02:39:30 +0000 UTCHey everyone, just wanted to provide a quick update for the next video, as well as the YouTube channel as a whole.
So the next video is going to be covering the Any% run for Mirror's Edge, which if I had to compare to any previous run I've covered, it's most like Dishonored. It's a really, really deep and complicated game in terms of movement and it's a video I've wanted to make for a few months, but have always been too intimidated to attempt until now. I've started reviewing material for learning the route and writing the script, but where's that leave us with when it's going to come out?
Well, that leads to the second topic I wanted to talk about real quick which is the YouTube channel as a whole. Since around this time last year, I've tried to upload a video every third week at the latest (which is something I've been able to successfully keep up with save for the Prey video getting delayed due to sponsor stuff).
Personally though, I wasn't the biggest fan of how the Zelda video came out, and I wish I had spent more time on it in the writing phase. The feedback on it has been overall very positive, but I still think that I've kind of lost the feel of my videos by getting too bogged down in the details.
I think this is a side effect from being super busy outside of YouTube, but still rushing to try and get a video out in a three week span. Because of this, I'm no longer going to approach videos with the mindset of I have three weeks to make it. Instead I'm just going to take as long as it takes to make a video I'm very happy with. I think this will lend itself well to better updates on here, talking about how the video process is actually going, but I'll still provide updates for where I'm at in the video's production and when I think it'll come out.
So going back to the current video, when do I think it'll come out? If I had to guess, I'd say probably around the week of March 7th-14th. I don't think I'll get really into writing for this video until next week. I'll keep all of you who read these updated though, and maybe share more details along the way, like draft scripts and other things like rough cuts of parts of the video.
