Progress Report

Hi,


I added a skill/stats bar for the game and currently, I am working on the inventory.




I set 7 skills/stats which are; Charm, Crafting, Stealth, Alpha, Combat, Potence, and Renown.


Charm will help you to persuade and affect NPC's decisions. So as long as it will come in handy for the romance options you can also benefit a high charm skill for making more money by selling your good for a higher price or for getting some extra dialogues that could reveal more. I could also have named it charisma but I didn't want it to be confused with the alpha stat.

I am planning to add an inn as a new location where you can chat with locals and gain charm skills. 


Crafting is obviously for making items that you can sell or use. This skill will be a mix of blacksmithing and building. I am also planning a story branch for this skill if you decide to be a talented craftsman rather than a fighter.


Stealth will help you to see&hear more, hunt fast animals and finish some of the quests with less or no blood. You can improve this skill in the forest area and aside from that, I am planning to add a character that can help you how to be less recognized in certain matters.


Alpha stat will be more like an attitude and it will determine some of your decisions. So some options will be visible or invisible to you if you are less or more "alpha". You will gain it through the story.


Combat skill will both come in handy for hunting animals and fighting your enemies. You can practice it on dummies or flesh. And just like the stealth skill, I am planning to add a character that will help you to improve your combat skill.


Well, I think potence skill doesn't need too much of an explanation. You will gain this skill through your interactions with other characters and I may also add a brothel to help you out to gain it in exchange for some coins.


For gaining renown, I am planning to give you two branches. One of them is through your combat-based exploits and the other one is through your crafting/building skill. So it will up to you to play as a mighty fighter or a legendary craftsman/builder.  

I grew up playing Ultima Online so that influence really poked me to do this. Having a branch like that will create an extra workload but I think it will be more fun for you to play. I am not a visual novel fan so I also like it better when I feel more like playing rather than watching a game.


So right now I am trying to set these things as code and also I will need to get some renders to show the MC while performing these actions.  (The possible characters that I mentioned will come later.)


I hope in the end it will worth the effort and I will be able to present you with something nice.
