Blood Division

Another unexplored AU that I am handing over to the masses to play with because I no longer want to be in the fandom.

Blood Division - which is Chara's side of the story - or All our Heroes are Dead - which is Frisk's side of the story - is one of the few last stories I wrote that only got a few paragraphs, but a good amount of thought put into.

Basically, it takes place in a setting where the monsters haven't been cast down into the Underground yet (but the humans are planning to), and instead there are two warring camps, the Humans and the Monsters. Some of the humans are magical (this is actual canon, since the monsters were sealed Underground by a spell, which means some humans do have the capacity for magic, and it can be argued that Determination is a form of magic), and most of these humans are in the front lines.

Frisk is one of the magical humans who had an accident when they were younger (fell on top of the grave of a Determined human while trying to escape camp when they were under siege), and thus gained an extra passenger in their body - Chara. Frisk is a part of a small group of travelling nomads (the other human Souls), and gets separated while they are trekking through the desert due to a dust storm. They end up wandering to a nearby abandoned human camp that's being ransacked by a group of monsters (scavenging troops composed of Undyne, Papyrus and Sans), and have to hide.

Unfortunately, they get discovered and have to fight for their lives. Well, Chara wants to fight for their lives, but Frisk is a believer in pacifism. Due to their disagreement, they get captured. However, Papyrus is a huge softie and neither Undyne nor Sans is gonna kill the human in front of him, so they take Frisk back to camp.

In camp, Frisk pretty much learns that the monsters are just like humans, in a sense - they have families, they feel, they have sorrows, they have needs, they are kind and they don't really understand the war more than the humans do. Due to Papyrus' friendliness, Frisk doesn't get treated like a prisoner, but is constantly dragged around by Papyrus in camp, and they get to socialize with everyone that way.

Frisk gets dragged along during a scavenging mission and they have an unexpected encounter with a human scavenging troop. A fight breaks out, and one of the monsters (monster kid) gets hurt. Frisk, whose weapon is a gun that fires blue magic and stuff, shoots MK, but instead of MK dying like the other expected, MK gets healed instead. They pretty much discover that Frisk shoots to heal, not to kill. However, the fight gets so bad that Frisk's safety is threatened and Chara, in self-preservation, hijacks the body. The gun responds and the magic turns red as Chara goes on a killing spree.

That's pretty much the premise of Blood Division: the war has devastated so much of the land that half of everything is desert land, the sides are divided into factions because everyone doesn't want to fight but wants to make sure their families live so they try to break off and just function on their own, everyone steals every mode of transportation they can and tries to modify it into the fastest cars they can create, everyone has a weapon.

Frisk is two people. Frisk, who shoots with blue bullets that heal, and Chara, who shoots with red bullets that kill. They actually exist in a balance, and Frisk is the primary controller of the body except for when they are in danger. Chara immediately kicks in when they feel like the body is in danger; Chara is the emergency system who is incredibly violent and knows how to kick ass.

Chara also happens to be the monster prince's late adopted sibling, whose death was caused by another human faction's attack. (Chara actually set this up, much like their setting up of the buttercup poisoning in Undertale. They dropped hints for the wandering human faction to find their camp and then got themselves killed, thus convincing the monsters that the humans have no ounce of good in them as they were set on killing their own kind).

(Yes, Asriel is still alive in this AU.)

Chara, of course, due to Frisk's influence has mellowed down a little, and Frisk, due to Chara's influence, is ace with a gun (and several other weapons).

The chosen titles are pretty self explanatory - Blood Division for bloodthirsty Chara, and All Our Heroes are Dead for a wandering, raised on hopeless stories Frisk.
