Portrait Painting session 4
Added 2023-02-28 01:22:22 +0000 UTCWow, this was one of those sessions where it felt like it was going horribly wrong and then it ends up not looking so bad at the end. I wish I could trust my instincts more. We'll see if we continue on this, maybe I will take a break and paint something easier for some basic exercises and get back to difficult stuff again later. Does that sound better? Any ideas on videos? Leave in comments below. Thanks!

2023-03-01 17:21:33 +0000 UTCCan you discuss glazing? Do you use glazing? How do get a wonderful illuminious depth with those layers. Example is your still life of Lemons. Amazing!!!🍋
2023-03-01 17:12:55 +0000 UTCWould also like to learn more about using edges, soft versus hard etc., thanks Michael, great content, really enjoying the learning process
2023-03-01 07:36:29 +0000 UTCSorry, hit return too soon! The result is a scratchy surface
2023-03-01 07:34:39 +0000 UTCOne idea is brushwork. I tend to do a lot of trial and error rework and the resultIt is easy to conceal when painting rocks, but not flowers!
2023-03-01 07:33:13 +0000 UTCOh I love those ideas, there is always complexity in simple things so yes that could definitely be a two-part lesson. on background and then how it relates to the vase
