Cabin Fever 30 Sept 22

Hello there

It's Cabin Fever podcast Friday, your weekly off-the-cuff chat catch up with what's been going on.

Today I finally snap after a very long build up of chipping away and stick up for myself.  Should have done it ages ago to be honest, but better late than never.  If you like me assertive then this is for you, if you don't then it really isn't.  Responding though, not attacking. I've already tried to do it nicely.

There's also a chat about disability awareness, the development of Loopholes and other work, a bit about Saints winning the league and my experience watching that, a smashing autoharp song to round us all off, and just a very charming - if fighty - boy.

Oh and I'm also trying out a new ending thing.  I've been thinking for ages that I want to take some (not all) of the rough edges off Cabin Fever, and make it slightly more produced.  It doesn't affect the way I talk on it or how I talk...oh you'll hear what I mean...I don't need to explain myself.

All packaged up nicely in this here podcast for you to listen to or not.  That's the beauty of Patreon - you can literally pick at whatever you want to. My job is to supply the buffet for that.

Hope you've had the loveliest of weeks and that the sun (real or metaphorical) is shining on you.

Much love as always

Richard I know you will definitely have been cursing my ilk as you went past West Bretton. Arty students all invading. I found that out the one time I went into a pub in Darton and even the fruit machine seemed to be staring at me. I know it’s taken ages to reply but not too late that there’s any fade to the four in a row glow. Also, very much enjoying the live shows and the one in Eccles was one of the best podcasts I’ve ever heard. I think it was Eccles. It was really good. Vossy was a great capture too, he’s been a bit of a revelation eh? Agree about the PlayStation games, I wasn’t overly taken with him on them but have been very won round in the last few weeks. And I have never played somebody else on that game, so as soon as that can be arranged it’s game on. You can be Wakefield and I’ll be…erm…Saints. That’ll be fair right?

Haha same. The subscription service argument is water tight, because it completely disproves the premise that you could supply too much stuff. People don’t leave subscription telly because there’s too much stuff. Might be because they don’t really use it, or don’t like what’s on there, all that is valid, but the suggestion is because there’s too much stuff is ludicrous.

Congratulations on the hurricane. Also, Bretton Hall, a much enjoyed bus stop of the trip to college from Wakefield to Barnsley. Almost a cut-off point between civilisation and South Yorkshire. Good to hear you picked up none of the accent here. Imagine thinking, when Wakefield won the Yorkshire Cup in 1992 that we might be actually good. Still waiting. 😪 Very professional performance from Saints. Too bloody good. And stopped Leeds winning, so a bonus for us bitter ones.

1) People who complain about ‘too much content’ should have their front doors kicked in. If they’re found to subscribe to ANY streaming service, they should be taken out and shot. 2) People who complain about the length of things: if you’re too fucking witless to find your own edit point, then sorry, but you’re up against the wall too. Feel quite strongly about this, as you may have gathered. 😬
