The Fire of '23 - Pt.2

Hazaah!
Youtube was kind to me this week and has processed he video in record time, allowing me to catch up.
Sorry for the delay folks, it was not my intention to leave you on a cliff hanger for too long.
after having this laptop back apart and repairing it myself I've had some catching up to do but Pt.2 is now ready to watch.
We spent a few days at a Campsite during the fire to wait it out, I'm afraid my mood at the time makes for a shorter video, I wasn't the happiest Chappy during this.
The time soon come for us to head back and see if our home had survived.

Praise God! 🙏🙏🙏 You are all safe and your home was kept safe. The firefighters did an amazing job! I’m so happy that through that whole thing no one was hurt. Onward and upward as they say.

Cary Sands

Another great video and I am so glad to hear your base made it through! Do you think the fire fighters saw your land with your trailer and put extra effort in to stopping the fire from flowing through it? It’s nice to think they would if they could aswell

Simon Barrett

As a former firefighter for 32 years in the UK, it was really nice of you to acknowledge the efforts, skill and dedication of the bomberos where you live. Many people don’t. It’s just taken for granted, so thank you. Another class piece of film making CJ. You’re getting good at this! 😉😄👍

ALWAYS GRATEFUL for emergency workers. Don’t know if Portugal is like in Australia where most are volunteer brigades. All country areas, no matter how small have a CFA brigade. These men and women leave their own properties to help where needed. Lost my home in the 2006/7 fires “The 2006–07 season included the Victorian Alpine Fire Complex which was the longest running collection of bushfires in Victoria's history. On 1 December 2006, more than 70 fires were caused by lightning strikes in the Victorian Alps, many of which eventually merged to become the Great Divide Complex, which burned for 69 days across about a million hectares.” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006%E2%80%9307_Australian_bushfire_season The positive thing for me is I then became a full time motorhomer - in Australia from fire till 2015 then here in Europe. Now only part-time due to age, health and brexshit.

I recognise the sound of a grinder getting tapped out anywhere 😂 stay safe guys

Wow CJ, very happy for you dude. It's strange from watching your videos from when I found them in 2019, all through lock down and now to see you with all of this happening. You've invited us to in to your life and I was so bloody happy to see your gaff saved. Big love to all 3 of you!

Someone was absolutely looking out for you! Remember the phoenix rose from the ashes and that blackened landscape will grow back stronger than ever as fire Ash is actually a really good food source for plants. So glad no-one was hurt ❤

Dreaded scots lass

Madness. Glad nobody was hurt. Also, CBD 🫣?

Anton

It certainly looks like someone was looking after you three. Take the win and make it the best home you possibly can🫡🫡🫡

AntLab

Man, that was close, glad you were so miraculously lucky to be spared! Hope you won't have to go through that again. All the best, take care!

Lars P.

So glad everything was OK. I can tell you this from experience in Spain. We had horrendous fires all around Javea in 2016. Totally wiping out Granadella national park. As I cycle through there in 2023, you would never have known. Nature has an amazing way of coping. All the best.

Oh my word! Your right about the fire fighters. Anybody who runs towards a fire that big to put it out is a SUPERHERO. Best wishes guys !

mick leach

Bloody hell C.J. that was so close, i'm so pleased you're both OK and that the lovely Lance is doing well, take care you lovely people xxx

Kaz Lee

O my God! Cannot imagine how it felt to discover that your land had survived. The Bomberos most certainly, and a guardian angel maybe? What a story! Xx

Sue B

From previous posts I thought the fire went one side of the land but from this footage it looked like it went both sides of you. How amazing your little piece of heaven was spared thank to those truly heroic fire fighters! Onwards and upwards buddy and more power to al three of you!!

Chas House

First I'd like to convey my acknowledgement along with yourself to the firefighters for their brave work containing the fire(s). second the 3 of you are safe and well and the property is safe and escaped the fire's path, stay safe and well the 3 of you.

Brian Brown

Unbelievable! The relief for you guys must have been so immense. So glad you are all ok 👍

Sandor Horvath

So very happy for you all and relieved that the land was ok. Sometimes in life we need a bit of lady luck and she sure was watching over you all. Great video as always xx

Jjules1506

BH! Glad you are all OK... there are a lot of take aways when these things happen...it becomes very clear what really matters! 💚

Normabeth Conrad

So chuffed for use guy’s in times like this pulls comunity’s together. Witch is quite lovely human moral. Sort of thing that we don’t have in the uk no more. Loved the strawberry bit at was cute 😂. Mibby be good to have few ibc tanks dotted about or drums to collect rain water through winter that could be used to wet the land or somthing. But then again folk have lived there for 100’s of years

Stephen Williamson

so glad the land is all good, we were pretty sure you had lost it.

Neal Livett

Absolutely incredible to hear no one was hurt. The Bombeiros really are something else 🙌

Thomas kirkland

Wow. What a bloody thing! Part one had me sitting with hand over my mouth, and part two had me in tears. I can’t imagine how you guys felt in that spilt second when you saw your land, your home was safe. Sending love and gratitude

Karen

We go through life thinking things will always be the same, it’s not till things happen out of our comfort zone that we actually start living life. It’s a pretty extraordinary thing you have done moving out to Portugal, most people say they would love to do something like that, but never do, there should be risks in life, only then do you know you are living it. So glad you lot are safe and everyone is ok.

steve lambourne

Your guardian angel was certainly working overtime,

Richard Clements

Sat crying for you guys, even though we knew you were ok…wow
