CJ, I have commented on some of your you tube videos and literally signed up to patreon last week and have been binge watching all of the ones I haven't seen, I am currently here. You were the first van life I subscribed and watched intently on you tube. Our brains our the greatest tool and also the most dangerous weapon, always remember, people have mostly signed up to you, because they like you, as a person. It's your personality that has captured people and its not the length of the video or what content is in it. It's because you're in it that people watch it. One day, I hope I will have a van of some description (I'm hiring one for the nc500 in May) and maybe our paths will cross and we can sink a few whisky together. Stay strong dude.

Great minds think alike eh? 😆 Thanks man, I'm glad you liked it and you should definitely follow your project idea too, it's oddly therapeutic to look back at when editing to see yourself in the past with the hindsight of the present. As for a trip North. Do it! It's not a cheap trip but my god was it good, replaced Italy as my favourite country to visit in the van. Plus we know a pair up there that would be happy to see you 😉

As someone who's battled this it's nice (that's the wrong word because it's anything but you know what I mean) to see someone else describe the same thing. Thank you for everything you do. I hope you have moments of pride to counter balance the horrid doubt. What you've achieved is epic. The rebuild of the van alone was something a pro would have struggled with. Remember why you started these videos in the first place, as a visual memory bank for yourself of the places you've visited and to show family and friends where you've been and what you've seen. We watch very few vanlife videos on YouTube because they just seem fake to us, but we love watching yours on Patreon. Your videos are real, even through the bad stuff, warts and all. They're really good videos as far as we're concerned. No gimmicks, no fakery, just real life as it happens. And you've just driven to Sweden!!! We haven't made it out of the UK in the van yet!! Anyway, to summarize... You're amazing, end of. 💜🚐

Regardless of the footage you capture, or if you think it’s decent quality or not! You pull the absolute best out of whatever you capture, and that is real creativity and talent! There’s so so so so many other channels out there that lack substance or integrity and at the end of the day, they eventually suffer! Honestly you’re an incredible talent and so down to earth it’s genuine to watch!! Another YouTuber who I think has incredible storytelling abilities is Van Neistat (Casey Neistats brother) his channel is here… If you’re unfamiliar https://youtube.com/@vanneistat but he also has the very unique ability to tell great stories out of small moments and subjects! Hope you find some inspiration in it!? But seriously, I don’t know you at all… and I don’t need to, but I know I enjoy your channel and you content, and a lot of other people genuinely do too! The next is like a body punch, a personal internal nightmare made reality. Except its not mine, it's someone else going through the exact same thing I do. Why do we hold ourselves to such high standards? Why is nothing less than perfect enough? I'm going to be honest when I saw the beginning I was worried your confidence had been knocked and, in your mind, "retreated " to the safety of comedy. I was wrong. I don't really know what else to say that would help. I know nothing anyone says to me really does. I guess I do want to say I love seeing your adventures, seeing what real van life is actually like. I don't want the bullshit Instagram hashtaggers hanging off a rock by a pinky. I love seeing new places and what's there, it gives my partner and I a little push to get our sprinter converted. We really wish you could stop worrying about things so much and chill though! Being a fellow ginge with a short temper I actually like seeing you stopping back at people that comment about things like collecting poo. So yeah, love what you do, hope you're feeling a bit better now. Maybe think about therapy/counselling/cbt to help with the anxiety crap?

Showing that it doesn't always go right is more honest than many, and it's part of your story. What you did with the van was nothing short of amazing, and only having one pin in one connector wrong, is nothing to be critical about, I bet there are a few Merceedes repair shops wishing you were on their team. We might be your hidden audience, but we genuinly care about you, Lance , and Amber.
