"Most Wanted" #3 - Submit your ideas!
Added 2020-02-27 02:54:02 +0000 UTC
In the last round of "Most Wanted" we asked you to vote on ideas for opponents for Pablo Escobar to face in a future battle. On the Patreon and YouTube polls the most popular suggestion was Willy Wonka with over 40% of the vote. We have been discussing the match-up a lot this past week. Its a great idea. Two big characters. Lots of fun potential. Its now officially on the table with a whole bunch of other ideas. One day it might happen.
But, we now want to ask you all for ideas for another character we are interested in possibly putting into a battle - John F Kennedy - who probably needs little introduction. He's been someone we have been interested in for years, but we've never quite found a match-up for him that we truly love.
So... that's where we need your help! We want your suggestions for opponents for JFK.
You can post your ideas for opponents in the comments below, or post & discuss them in the '#matchup-ideas' channel on the Discord or email them to erbpatreon@gmail.com
On Monday 2nd March we will create a poll on Patreon and YouTube featuring five of our favourite suggestions. Look forward to reading all your ideas.
JFK vs. RBG (Ruth Bader Ginsberg)
This one writes itself.
JFK was a notorious womanizer in politics, and RBG has been standing up for women's rights for over 75 years.
Both iconic figures in American politics, and both have the three initial name drop.
This needs to happen.

Ooooh, JFK. I've been pondering him for a while. I'd vote for Steve McQueen, the "King of Cool" who also served in the military in his youth. Enlisted in the marines, was demoted to "private" seven times for his rebelliousness, Saved five marines from a tank about to crash through the ice, and was on the honor guard of the presidential yacht for Harry Truman. Multiple wives, multiple miscarriages with said wives and girlfriends, and was one of the most badass action stars to the point Bruce Lee publicly said he wanted "everything Steve McQueen had," but they were still good friends.

JFK, widely renowned for being a great president. He led the US through the cold war and navigated around difficult situations. But also apparently a lot of his decisions were... misguided. Idk what but he does some roastable attributes apparently. So someone somewhat tangentially related to that who is also interesting.
I'm gonna go way out on a limb and say Pythagoras. I mean he is widely regarded in his field (I'm sure most people have heard of the Pythagorean Theorem). However he apparently was kind of a shitty person. He had a bunch of other people working under him and Pythagoras likely stole credit from some of them.
So I guess mostly good politician guy versus mostly good math guy.
Also a mathematician has never been in an ERB so that's cool.

Charles de Gaulle ^^^^ definitely

2020-02-27 08:32:11 +0000 UTC
JFK vs Charles de Gaulle :
There are connections and differences. The connections:
- They had the project to create something new : New Frontier for Kennedy, 5th Republic for De Gaulle;
- Their reign ended prematurely;
- They both had an important role in the cold war;
- They both wanted their State to be powerful.
And the differences:
- Kennedy's project was more progressive, De Gaulle's project more traditionalist;
- Kennedy was young, De Gaulle was old and had the youth against him (May 68);
- Kennedy had good relations with artists, De Gaulle wanted to control newspapers and there was an important censorship.

I think JFK would be one of those multiple rapper battles. Like a President Day special or something. Maybe the president rappers are known for a war (Cold, Civil, WWs, etc) and how each thinks war should be handled.

JFK vs. Obama. They argue about who is a better public speaker. JFK being handsome & smiley; Obama on being calm & articulate. Obama jabs at JFK for only winning because of his military history & Teddy Roosevelt (or another decorated president) defends him. Then Marilyn Monroe enters and talks trash about JFK and his pursuits to have relations with her. Maybe at the end Vladimir Putin enters and talks about the Cold War and how Russia has a ton of nukes.

I think JFK vs FDR is a perfect blend of two great presidents that work very well against each other. As both had different ideals when it came to dealing with how they handle the wars they had to deal with. JFK had to learn how to not cause world war 3 in the cold war . And FDR had to solve the great depression and WW2. So I think it would be a pretty interesting matchup.

I kinda wanna see FDR in a battle where he walks up to a podium held by his son to start the battle, and leaves by flipping of his opponent as he gets in his wheel chair to leave.

I've seen it pop up, I think once even in a #MTB poll, but it's flimsy. Of course, flimsy isn't bad as long as there's a little relation. I mean we have Hannibal Lector vs. Jack The Ripper, where the only relation is they're famous murderers (and one is fictional).

Only two unmentioned options come to mind for me.
JFK vs. King Arthur.
I only say this due to Camelot, rulers, and both being killed by traitors. It's been mentioned before, and it's flimsy, but KA is a crowd puller considering his lack of mentions these days.
JFK vs. Robert FK (JFK's brother).
First battle of the blood I can remember, and both died on the campaign trail to the Presidency (though one died as President and another died being the lead for president).
