OP65: The Beautiful Informant

Walking in the alleyways of Mock Town felt like going down the public sewers, but Veyron held it all in and promised to not come here ever again. Tsuru and Gion were leading and the entire group had their guards up.

Every pirate they saw was instantly stricken by fear due to the lineup, they didn't even try to talk to them before running.

"How much information are you willing to let out, Tsuru?" Primrose's patience was limited, every second that passed was as second she didn't know what those bastards were doing to her friend, The fact that this grandma needed to walk slowly wasn't helping her nerves much.

"I believe when it comes to information I'm more aware of Peter Hornigold's true identity compared to you. What I expect from you is not cooperation in this sense. If you want to save that girl, it is better if we work together in defeating this man, because he won't be easy to defeat".

For her to be saying those words, Veyron thought this Peter Hornigold must have been some special character that would be introduced later in One Piece.

"What do you know?"

"He's an ex-member of the marine that joined about twenty years ago but deserted recently, killing all of his crew. He's a Birkan... as far as we know he didn't have any devil fruit until now. But information has told us he now has the power of a logia of darkness".

"Yami Yami no Mi" Gion finished and nobody seemed to have a reaction to this fact except for the white mantle. Veyron stopped... this action of his made the whole group stop and look at him.

'What!? This man has the Yami Yami no Mi?! Could it be that he's the previous owner before Blackbeard?' Veyron was confused, he didn't know when exactly Marshal D. Teach killed his division commander, Tatch, to steal the fruit... but now he could only assume that Tatch got this fruit after this Hornigold was slaughtered and lost it.

"Anything wrong, dear?" Hancock took his wrist, she had lived with him long enough to know that when he stopped like this was because he was making calculations.

"No, it's okay... let's keep going" He shook his head repeatedly and kept levitating forward, led by Hancock.

'Maybe at the end of all this, that fruit is going to be lost until it is found by Blackbeard, but... couldn't I just stop this? what if I get the fruit first' He didn't have the intention to eat the fruit, but by stopping Blackbeard from getting it, he'd be ridding himself of a possible devastating foe.

"Dear? I see your relationship is very close" Gion noted.

"Of course, we're engaged".

Contrary to what everyone expected, the one shocked by this revelation was Tsuru. Hancock frowned at her violent reaction but the old woman left a small giggle before continuing, "D-Don't mind me. Anyway, he's a man of darkness and therefore, not someone we can easily defeat now. I believe you have business with him?".

"He has tried to court me and I rejected him all this time. We fought several times into a stalemate in the calm belt... his crew should have just five or six pirates on them, all decent fighters in the use of Haki".

"Five or six? That means he disposed of a few..."

After a long walk, they finally reached the spot where they were going. It was the entrance to a building that looked like an apartment complex. The door was rotten but tightly closed, with a bit of rustling inside.

Tsuru knocked on the door a few times and someone eventually opened the door just barely. It was a cloaked person but the moment he saw her, Veyron's eyes widened under the cloak in disbelief, he couldn't believe what he was seeing and needed but a mere confirmation.

"Who-!" The girl saw a group of individuals, each more troublesome than the other, standing in front of her door. She had been preparing her luggage to depart, but it seemed fate had other plans.

"I believe we saw each other recently, Nico Robin" Tsuru began.

Veyron's true voice came out and called for the attention of everyone, especially Tsuru and Gion.

The situation got a little hectic when arms started to appear around their necks and that was the precise moment Veyron confirmed that this was indeed... a character he loved madly!

Everyone began levitating, even the nearby objects, this disrupted Robin's concentration and then her body started to move on its own, putting her hands behind her back.

'What is this power!? My body is moving on its own!' She wasn't the only one, Gion was shocked as well.

"I knew you were Dracule Veyron from the beginning, put me down" Tsuru was impassive while her body levitated upside down.

"He was!?" Gion wasn't born on the same day.

"Let's all take one step back. Big sister, we're not going to do anything bad to you, promise" Veyron levitated towards the floating panicky and grasped her wrist.

"AH!"

Seeing this white mantle monster with the voice of a kid approaching her, Robin panicked even more.

'Oh sh*t'!'

He removed the mantle and revealed his true self, in any case, Tsuru had already exposed his true identity; this reveal finally gave some rest to Robin as he embraced her.

"Don't worry... I won't let anything bad happen to you".

"Hey, Darling! What is the meaning of this!?" Hancock bit her fingernails, at this display. She thought Veyron was getting too touchy-feely with this girl while for her part, Primrose looked at Robin's expression and couldn't help but find it familiar.

'Those are the features of a Boa...'

"I won't do anything so please, let me go..." Robin tried to push Veyron away, she thought it was her doom and Veyron was in reality allied with the marines.

There was a lot of confusion so Veyron had to take a step down, release Robin and put things back in order.

"How about we go inside and discuss it like civilised adults?".

'Like you're one to talk, kid!'.
