This poll is just for fun. But, we are very interested to see what you think of the ideas.
So get voting folks! Which battle out of the six options most interests you?

And for a battle featuring British royalty, have Diana vs Madonna. Controversial, yet still admired princess from the 90's

2019-07-06 21:53:11 +0000 UTCI think a better opponent for Curie would be Mother Teresa. Two female leaders from different ways at looking at the world, that being religion vs science.

2019-07-06 21:50:39 +0000 UTCHoly guacamole! I can't believe my Discord suggestion of Patton vs. Grant got through, let alone popular. Not saying I'm the only one who may have suggested it then, but man am I happy to see it. I don't know if anyone will see this, since I'm so late to the post, but I chose those only because of the S. Kind of like the R.R. Martin vs. R.R. Tolkien battle, and the guys I suggested were because of different eras of war so they wouldn't just cover one war, not directly against each other so no Nazis or Rebels to be heavily biased towards/against, and both American generals whose combat records are astounding so no need to have to introduce bias between countries like Britain, France, etc. Anyways, thank you so much ERB for picking Patton vs. Grant. Patton is a man I'll always hold as a man who deserved more praise than what he got, and Grant who I see as the man who achieved what Patton did not decades before. Thank you.

2019-07-01 02:28:32 +0000 UTCNot quite... they went liberal before then... keeping this quiet was a political manipulation to keep the yellow dog democrats in the south voting for the wrong platform. in the 1960’s, the southern states pulled their heads out of their rears and realized what they were voting for.

2019-07-01 01:55:06 +0000 UTCPlease no more politics. (But would you include the mid-1800’s reversal where both parties somehow swapped conservative/liberal platforms? Lincoln wasnt voted in by conservatives wanting less centralized government... Democrats were the conservatives)

2019-06-30 20:05:20 +0000 UTCI would love too see Democrat vs Republican presidents, A group battle that shows how much the parties have changed over our short history as the USA

2019-06-30 18:06:02 +0000 UTCI voted for Grant vs. Patton, but I think a better matchup would be Grant vs. Lee (yes, Robert E.), and the last verse by Patton, on Ulysses’ side finishing off Patton, the same way that Neil deGrasse Tyson joined Bill Nye to helped finish the battle with Sir Issac Newton. I think this would be a great battle, full of historic lines. At some point, Patton or Grant needs to reference Sherman’s March; I was thinking “you divided this nation with a line drawn in the sand, I’m about to finish you like the March of Sherman” or “this battle is not even fair for ya, I’ll finish you like Sherman finished Georgia,” “why did you even try to battle me, Lee? I’ll finish you off like I’m Sherman finished the south in his March to the Sea.” I spent over the last hour discussing these lines with my girlfriend, and she and I both agree that the Lee/sea rhyme flows the best. I think this would be a particularly dope battle, and I really hope you guys consider my suggestions.

2019-06-29 05:03:10 +0000 UTCRichard Nixon vs P.T. Barnum because (1) Political Circus puns (2) Nixon's ears look like Dumbo (3) dope harlequinesque music. Alternatively: P.T. Barnum Vs. Jean Valjean, guest appearance by Hugh Jackman (who played them both in film).

2019-06-28 19:13:51 +0000 UTCSome of us prefer the historic non-fictional people battles the best. Glad you still have those in the mix! :)

2019-06-28 11:35:39 +0000 UTCHow about George Washington vs. Sun Yat-Sen? They both had ideas about governance that would be very alien to us today, as well as to each other.

2019-06-27 22:02:05 +0000 UTCI’m interested to see Patton vs Grant just because Grant is so overmatched that he’ll probably lay some thunderous burns on Patton. Still hoping for Popeye vs Thanos one day
Ryan Mason
2019-06-27 06:57:14 +0000 UTCBeyonce (with a cameo-return of DeStorm Power's Kanye interrupting on her behalf) vs. Elizabeth I (with a cameo-return of Watzy's Shakespeare) d:

2019-06-27 06:36:57 +0000 UTCEven though it's late already, but maybe next President's Day in 2020, Father and Son Presidents versus each other. John Adams and John Quincy Adams vs. George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush Jr.

2019-06-27 01:46:42 +0000 UTCHannibal of Carthage or Scippio Africanus come to mind.

2019-06-27 00:53:23 +0000 UTCI’m a theatre nerd so I’m super into the idea of a musical theatre battle. I definitely think Hamilton should be involved, either as a title rapper, third party, or as the closer for a royale (since musical theatre is often criticized for being super white, and him coming in to talk about opening the doors for others is a great note to end on). Also, as others have said, Rico as Hamilton ftw

Epic Rap Battles Of History
2019-06-26 22:38:33 +0000 UTCIt should be Queen Elizabeth II with the hoodie while driving her Range Rover. Any one of these would be great by the way.

2019-06-26 22:32:26 +0000 UTCPatton is one of the greatest generals to ever live, he deserves a better opponent than Grant, in my humble opinion.

2019-06-26 22:24:00 +0000 UTCI'm sorry, I didn't mean to be so negative, I can't imagine how difficult it must be. How about, Yoda vs Jiminy Cricket? Mary Poppins vs Fran Drescher's Nanny. Tarzan vs Grizzly Adams. Christopher Lee vs Vincent Price. Atticus Finch vs Johnny Cochrane. Beyonce vs Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Alice Cooper vs Marilyn Manson?

2019-06-26 21:29:47 +0000 UTCseriously? Yawn city. None of them jump out as having any reason to battle (perhaps there is, but really, Queen B vs Queen E?). Ronald McDonald vs Burger King makes sense, none of these have the same immediate attention grab.

2019-06-26 21:28:12 +0000 UTCI'd like to see little orphan Annie show up in that Broadway showdown...

2019-06-26 21:18:59 +0000 UTCI chose Nicolaus Copernicus Vs Marie Curie. I enjoy the men vs women battles where they're on equal footing in their field. History tends to overrepresent men's actions so we naturally get a lot of male vs male battles. It would be really neat to see some battles where famous men in history square up against the lesser known women who did the same things. Paul Revere vs Sybil Ludington is a clear one that comes to mind.
Eric Fritsch
2019-06-26 21:18:11 +0000 UTCHonestly these are all pretty great! I picked Valjean, I think him vs Hamilton (Musical revolutionaries, American vs French) ft Phantom might be siqq
Gary
2019-06-26 21:13:03 +0000 UTCGalileo seems like a better match-up than Copernicus. He's got more name recognition and a richer history (his struggles with the Catholic Church in addition to the science). Plus he's a contemporary of a lot of other Renaissance figures who could be tagged in

2019-06-26 21:11:09 +0000 UTCAww shucks! I would have suggested Buster Keaton vs. Charlie Chaplin
