Around 2011/12 British culture had a resurgence there was a royal wedding, London Olympics, queens jubilee, ed Sheeran and of course 1D. I remember it being a thing even living in Australia. Also I’m 29 and have been a fan since 2011 :)

I just never listened to them (I was full of prejudices against boybands). I randomly discovered Niall's music during lockdown. I loved it, got curious about his journey and found out he was in 1D. I then went on a 1D/solo members music journey. I have to say I'm not a fan of the band's early music (minus a couple songs), but I really enjoy their later work together and all of their solo careers to be honest. I find it fascinating that they split to such various genres of music.

It’s surreal to think that a month ago he was still here, and now 2 days ago he was laid to rest. Watching your videos such as the beginning of their X factor journey when you talk about him in the present I just keep answering “not anymore”, “No he won’t”. And during the this is us movie when his father says he’s the only boy in the house and he’s gone now, hit so much harder. Well…keep them reaction coming lads, we need a bit of joy.

2024-11-23 01:46:04 +0000 UTCyk it’s actually really crazy yk as ur talking about this ripple affect. a lot of us have gone back to one directions music and it’s kind of crazy bc a lot of liam’s lyric such as the one in history talk about life and death and just a lot of lyrics relating to this situation. yk when u first heard it you would never think about that but it’s crazy that it was always liam singing that specific lyric. it is just really crazy how life works and how there’s always these things ppl have said in their life that comes back around after they died that’s almost like a “prediction”. it’s unfortunate as well yk. it’s very hard for a lot of ppl to listen to their music now for that reason bc yk it’s not even just the fact that liam sang it it’s also the fact that liam and louis wrote it on top of that. i think what’s hard right now is so many fans accepting and coming to turns with the fact that that may be the last time those 4 boys are all in the same room. and also accepting that the band will never come back. the boys always said they did one day want to do something they didn’t know what it would be but all 4 of them wanted something and i think even zayn would’ve been open to it at this point in his life and reconnecting w specifically louis. so bc of that nobody ever excepted the band never coming back but now even if they did it’s never going to be the same. yk we lived without zayn being there and we accept that but i think it’d be too hard to accept somebody not being there who really wanted to be just bc they passed.
