2025-08-25 12:50:50 +0000 UTCIf you are interested in knowing a bit more about the time this is set, there is a good youtube video called "It's All Henry VIII!: A Beginner's Guide To The Dissolution of the Monasteries" by J Draper. Henry VIII (the father of the Queen Elizabeth in Blackadder) split from the catholic faith and it had a huge knock on effect through history. And there was a lot of paranoia about catholic plots so Henry and Elizabeth put a lot of people to death. I'm sure you know a lot of this but the video I mentioned shows some interesting examples of the kind of influence this change had.

2025-08-25 08:32:54 +0000 UTCWhen I was a kid my Dad had taped these all onto vhs and he had recorded over the good hard shag line so I couldn’t hear that bit as he obviously didn’t want me to ask what as shag is🤣I just assumed there was something wrong with the tape, I got the realisation when I was older and watched the original. Haha. Anyway I learnt quite a lot about life watching this as a kid and used to get the dictionary out a lot when watching it 🤣
