well, she didn't need to go out in the world to write folklore and evermore, Due to the pandemic she said she watch a lot of movies and read a lot of books, and she wrote songs that were not biographical.hence, those two albums.

Lover is absolutely not a bad album, it's just that her other albums are (generally) considered better. And even then, I think it's safe to say that Taylor's "worst" album could easily be the great album dream of many other artists. Can't wait for you to listen to it. 🙌🏼

OMG i haven’t even finished this reaction but I just wanted to say… LOVER IS NOT HER WORST ALBUM!!!!! She doesn’t have a "worst" album. In fact Lover is my FAVORITE followed by 1989 💕 There are so many top tier songs on her Lover album like, Cruel Summer, Cornelia Street, Death By A Thousand Cuts, False God, The Archer, Afterglow, Daylight, London Boy, I Think He Knows, Lover, Paper Rings, Soon You’ll Get Better! Up to Lover (excluding Rep), most of her songs about live were broken heart based. In Lover she is in her ‘giddy’ in love stage so some of the songs reflect that. Also, the first song ME! was decisive among fans. But critics forget she wrote it for kids who didn’t feel good about themselves to be able to sing a song from the top of their lungs about how great they were. And it hits the nail on the head for that for sure. Also, You Need to Calm Down- it was the first time Taylor came out loud and proud in support of the LGBTQ+ community and it took on the haters. Some people didn’t like Taylor finally being vocal about her political/social stand - for the first time. Lover has some great songs and I suspect you might even find a few favorites of her entire discography on there. It also went to #1, and was commercially very successful, but fans just tend to gravitate towards other albums as their #1 fave. It is not a bad album at all.

I wouldn’t say lover is her worst album but maybe her most divisive. I would rank it in the middle myself but I know people who hate it and I know people who say it’s their favorite.

With Reputation and Grammy noms, yes the Grammys mean something to her. Taylor was always told she wasn’t good enough as a child; the kids bullied her & made fun of her; then the Kanye West thing and she was feeling like they all were boo-ing her. So, yea, she feels like she has something to prove, the need to be validated because she has been told so much at a young age that she didn’t belong. Then the song Famous was released the night before the Grammy awards (for 1989 album) in which Taylor was to perform; he released it at that time on purpose. He illegally videotaped the phone convo, then Kim edited it to make it seem like she gave him permission. It’s about 20min in length, in YouTube and hard to watch. So long story short, her response was Reputation. It’s a great album. But the media didnt like it, she called them out. So the lack of Grammy noms was also a slap in face from the media, telling her that she hasn’t made it back yet. Reputation was the #1 selling album of the year, the end of year #1 album, and it was snubbed. So to me, it was the media sending her a message that they still hate her. Recently, some journalists have come out and admitted that their senior editors pressured them to write bad reviews for Rep; and now some have retracted their original review. But, that took 5 years for them to come out and admit they purposefully slammed the album.
