LGR - Mitsubishi DJ-1000: World's Smallest Digital Camera (in 1997!)

Yeah I'm just enjoying talking about retro cameras lately. Here's one of the more amusing ones from my collection: the Mitsubishi DJ-1000!

Probably the last camera video for a little while, though I do have another two that I want to talk about eventually. Hope you enjoy this one in the meantime :)

Also: many of you have gotten in touch regarding the hurricane since I live in North Carolina. Thank you very much for the well-wishes! I am doing quite all right in my little corner of the state and I'm not in a flood zone. Not expecting too much nastiness even when the storm arrives overnight, although there's always a risk of power loss and landslides so I'll be staying alert. Am thinking of all my family, friends, and Carolinian patrons tonight. Stay safe out there, folks.

Quite safe, barely had anything happen over in my area. Thanks!

Hope you are safe, Clint. Great vid as always - I had no idea this thing existed.

Clint, cool. Never seen that camera before. Hey, I put a post on your FB page about the movie "Runaway" with Tom Selleck. This movie has your name written all over it. I streamed it on Prime for free. So, if you have Prime... well... there you go.

Set phasers to unsherp!

Renzo Thönen

Neat, I haven't heard of this one.

6:51 That is one gorgeous looking FD RX7 you got a shot of. I'd really like to see you review a car one day.

I have with every camera video so far! Here's the album for this one https://imgur.com/a/SqI5gSE

Any chance with these camera videos you could upload the photos you took, would be a fun little perk for Patrons

This is the exact era of camera technology that first captured my imagination. I was ten years old in 1997, which was also the first year that I clicked a shutter, so to speak, on a similarly low-quality Epson camera. It was nearly ten years later before I used my first job to buy my first real camera (a Canon Rebel XTi) and got into photography seriously. Though I pursue a much more realistic depiction of light and colour than this camera could ever attain, it is so nostalgic for me, and really feels good to see. Your camera videos make me happy, Clint. They remind me of great memories I'd misplaced. Thanks for helping me dig them up again!

I would still have to go with my trusty game boy camera. Even if I can’t put the pictures on a computer, it’s aesthetically pleasing to see 4 shade-rendered pics on a tiny camera.

Devon the Rogue Supreme

heh, PC Connection has moved a few miles east since that invoice was printed.

Japanese and Korean conglomerates can be weird that way. This division makes enormous cargo ships, this division makes semiconductors, and this one makes acoustic guitars!

moosemaimer

I totally want a modern camera with that form factor!

I guess their proofreaders weren't very sherp.

Move over Red Digital Cinema, Mitsubishi is the new king of digital photography

Safest structure is Sierra Nevada brewery. I am an expert in both weather and beer phenomenon, so you can trust what I'm saying.

I like the typo in the manual seen at 3:16.

Ermehgerd, dat sherpness
