LGR - Thrifts [Ep.28] ❤ Tacos

LGR - Thrifts [Ep.28] ❤ Tacos

Comments

I had a Bamboo and it worked very well, used it for years! Never had an Intuos though.

LGR

Not sure how hard the parts are to find, but from what I gather they aren't really worth fixing for the most part. Cost and time gets out of hand pretty quickly. Would still love to grab one!

LGR

Glad I'm not alone in that, haha

LGR

Yeah, I would have bought that "<3 Tacos" in a heartbeat XD

Love Thrifts! Perfect way to end the weekend! Would love to see one of those video disc players in action, I wonder how obscure replacement parts for them would be? I've acquired a boombox record player that needs some love and the tear-down instructions for it are mental, really complex analogue mechanics! *drools*

40 bugs for a bamboo. My advice trash that piece of junk. Had one of those once and it felt aweful. Okay I only bought it for drawing and working on the go but man compared to my intuos 4 it was just unusable. Also the software for that one is very clunky.

Ezydenias

Aw man! I wish you luck on your own searches for these, they're clearly out there :)

LGR

Wow. Three things I've been looking for that you passed up. Selectavision (although the stylus would probably need replaced), 7800, and bill Elliott's nascar challenge. I was a HUGE Bill Elliott fan growing up. I have the nes game and even the Konami handheld but not the pc game :(

Andrew Buffenmyer

LGR Taco Tales. Has a ring to it.

LGR

And if it was a Palm, I probably would've. I've owned and still have several portable HP devices, I don't exactly have need or desire for another!

LGR

I mean, if I had any interest it that one I would've, but I don't. Not a shame to me at all :)

LGR

Hehe, sure, but I've got enough mice that glow :P

LGR

TACOOOOOS

LGR

Aw, that's a shame. Looking at videos of it on YT, it looks pretty neat!

LGR

❤❤❤

LGR

Haha, yes! Only the finest in thrifting tips here on LGR

LGR

Not sure if they're Oddware exactly, but ehh, close enough and they'd be fun to show in some form :)

LGR

Heh, yeah that's a thing. It owes a lot to previous word and trivia games, but it has a neat twist or two https://www.amazon.com/Cardinal-Industries-6029295-about-Wikipedia/dp/B011KVZ6TM

LGR

Hope you enjoyed it :D

LGR

Mmmm...Tacos... You should make a Tech Tales about Tacos...

pcwzrd13

Should have bought the pocket pc. I had several Palms and I loved em...

Can't believe you didn't get the pocket PC! Great video though

The mouse, you could have done this: https://web.archive.org/web/20021011025842/http://ellis.geeklab.net/bluemousemod.php

Oh my god, how crazy is that?? I ALSO HEART TACOS.

RetroSwim

One of the Atari Flashback systems (the 1 or 2, I always forget) actually contains a "proper" Atari 2600 on-a-chip, can be modded with a cart slot to play actual 2600 games, and as such actually fetches more money than the others in the line. That said, does the pricing dude/lady at Goodwill go looking for this type of thing and price appropriately? Doubtful!! :)

RetroSwim

There was one of those Talking CompuTron things in my kindergarten classroom, but it never worked :(

Justin Dotson

Next time I'm in Goodwill I'll remember to check under any lamp shades!

AdventureGameGeek

I guess the tail end of summer is gonna be a drain. Bit of a shame about the FB2 (especially for its modding capabilities) & the Odyssey. Both would have been neat finds at a more reasonable price :( Those glasses look like a heck of an unique product too… fodder for a future Oddware? ;)

Rob Caporetto

5:45 "The Game About Wikipedia". ...what

Sutekh94

Yes, been waiting for this :D

TempleTurkey

You're right. The pricing Goodwill has at times is ridculous. 49 bucks for a Flashback 2? I remember getting that AND a Sega Genesis (w/ 40 games) for 80 bucks. And that was 9 years ago. :P And that Odyssey 200 price... yeesh. Just because something is old and boxed doesn't mean you can charge big prices for it. :

The Enforcer

I've got some Pong systems from back then which don't have a power switch, so I bet it was!

LGR

Odyssey 200 - On / off power switch. Was that really a special feature? lol

CNTR + ALT + cursor key to change the direction of your picture. :)
