i have no real interest in pokemon. but i certainly don't hate it either.. i think it;'s pretty neat that it's getting people out and about and connecting people thru a shared social interest.. but yea... I couldnt play it even if i wanted to as they don't even offer this app for Windows Phones

Considering it's making a couple millions dollars a day from them, quite a few people it seems!

Thank you, now I kind of see why everyone is talking about it. Like you, I have no knowledge of, or interest in, pokemon, so I just couldn't see the attraction so many have to it. Now I kind of see it, but it looks like something I'd get bored of pretty quickly and never go back to. But now, at least I have some sort of idea of what it is people are going on and on about in my newsfeed, so thank you very much my good man!

Nice review. I downloaded it and tried it for a day. Realised that it would be an obsessive time sink so I deleted it. I'm happier for it.

I personally enjoy ingress (the first game they made) a lot more. It seems like has a lot if features lacking in Pokémon go, for instance you can drop stuff on the ground for others to pick up. And it just has a bit more strategy to it, with how you create links to gain the most points. But one of the coolest features is the story and how they weave it into the real world, like sharing leaked document on social networks, containing hidden codes which players can decipher to gain in game rewards.

Some coworkers of mine came into my office because it was, apparently, infested with Pokemon ..... I preferred it when there were cockroaches ....

Aye, this has the potential to grab me in a way that almost no other game could. The combination of real world and virtual world is really captivating, if only the game itself was worthwhile.

If it has weaknesses, I haven't seen noticed!

You used a Weepinbell against a Pidgeot!? Pffff Noob! Learn 2 pokemon!
On a related note, did they implement pokemon type weakness in Go? I got board before I hit level 5, so I never even got to try out the battle system.

I haven't played a Pokemon game since the original Pokemon Red back in '98-'99, which I played frankly a ridiculous amount of. That probably why I'm so reluctant to play RPGs these days, I'm afraid of losing so much time to a single game like that again. But, yeah I tried Pokemon GO, and found it interesting, but very lacking. I might pick it up again when there's been some significant improvements.

So far Pokemon Go hasn't quite caught my interest, and looks like there's still a ton of things for it to improve upon first too.
And wow, first Pokemon game to play huh? :o

Oh man, a VR Pokémon game would be stellar. Capturing them and interacting with them and battling and just... I want that.

Despite being a Pokémon player since the very beginning, I have the same opinion about this thing as you do, Clint. That said, I see a lot of potential here given enough refinements and additions. What I think would be FAR better though would be a mainstream Pokémon title done in VR, where you could actually throw Pokéballs and go to different surreal places and everything and actually interact with your Pokémon as if they were right there similar to the mini-game type stuff in the 3DS releases... Soooooooooooooo much potential... :3
