It's always aliens. THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE

Good quicky !

Been wondering about this game for a while. I wish it was on PC... I don't have a PS4, but if I ever get one, I'll be picking this up.

I noticed some people mentioned Gone Home in their comments. I forgot to mention it by name earlier, but I played that game and I loved it, which is why I suspect I may like this game too if I get the chance to play it. :)

I kept getting transfixed on the box for Superhero League of Hoboken in the background. I haven't thought about that game for 10 years...

The way you described the experience reminded me of how I felt playing Gone Home, and I really enjoyed that "game". It really is about the atmosphere in these things, and I am a sucker for excellent soundtracks. The grunge of Gone Home really resonated for me. Too bad this is a PS4 exclusive..it could really shine on the PC.

Now I know why I'd buy a PS4, if I buy one someday. :) Other games I'd recommend for the soundtrack alone are the two Hotline Miami games. Speaking of top down 2D games, the rain reminds me of Dreamweb these days (it's always raining in that game).

Maximilien Noal

Agreed. The rain suited it just nicely and you didn't even have to mix in sound effects to make it sound great. Great review.

I do think some people can go a bit far in terms of hating the more exploratory games like Gone Home, Vanishing of ethan carter, etc. I've seen them act like they're objectively bad and that they shouldn't be discussed. To them I say: just because you don't like that type of game doesn't mean people who do like it shouldn't enjoy something they like.

Harry Thornton

Yeah, it was freaking LOUD in the room while recording, but it's been raining for two days so I wanted to chance it! And I agree, it's one of those that is less traditional and is more about feeling it out through exploration. I really dig this when it's done well, but I know it's not for everyone either

LGR

I can hear the rain while you're recording, and I'm not even wearing headphones! But that's okay, it actually fits the tone of the game you're talking about, and it didn't bug me anyways -- it's all good! :) As for the game itself, I'd also consider it a "buy it on a sale" game, too, based on what I've seen and heard of it. Some games are more like experiences through exploration in contrast to more "traditional" video games, and both types of games, I believe, can be equally as enjoyable. :)
