LGR - Thrifts [Ep.17] Calculated Risk
Added 2015-05-02 15:49:04 +0000 UTC
NOTE: If you feel slightly motion-sick as some did with the previous episode, I've included a "stabilized" version as well. The quality suffers a bit and I know some people hate the wobbly effect it produces, but it at least appears less jumpy.

Wish our Salvation Army shops in the UK were as exciting. All we get is the contents of James May's wardrobe.

The ones I've used all let you adjust the stiffness, either underneath or with swappable springs!

Uhhh I have a Saitek Joystick too, It must be from the same generation because it looks very similar to the one you found in there. And mine sucks, it is stiff as fuck. Mine is also able to rumble but it never did in any game so that function was really not there.

Was that a Confederate Flag with a rebellious deer at 2:24?

Man, either the people at Goodwill really think that people buy used Cheez-it bags by the pound, or some person eating Cheez-its wanted to be a troll or was too lazy to find a garbage can... that made me laugh way more than it should have.
BTW, is the phone in this picture the same one featured in this video? Wasn't sure since they were both red rotary phones :)

Don't know what people were complaining about. Eyes feel perfectly fine watching this video.

Yeah, the FOV suffers because of how it manages to stabilize the image. I'm not a fan of it, but I figured I'd give an option to see how it goes.
Classic calculators are awesome. I must get more

Took a look at both versions of the video... The quality decrease on the "stabilized" version is definitely noticeable, not to mention it feels super zoomed-in at times... *shrugs*
Also, old calculators FTW! ;D

Ha, I watched the stabilized version without realizing and wondered why the viewer findings at the end looked like they were edited under the influence of way too much caffeine.

After I got my vintage computer collection under control, I ended up getting into vintage phones a little bit too. Maybe it's a natural progression for vintage computer guys? lol
