A Break From LGR Thrifts

So I'm thinking I'll do just one more episode of LGR Thrifts for a while. The Goodwill construction is complete and 15 episodes will be plenty. My camera glasses broke too :/ With that said, expect the "last" episode of LGR Thrifts in the next few weeks. More will come eventually but yeah, think of it as the end of Season 1! Any thoughts are appreciated. The glasses are still physically together, but something internal is totally screwed. The footage now looks like the attached pic. Will definitely be buying another pair or two with some Patreon funds, so thanks for the continued support!

Thrifting is a young mans game. You got out at the right time.

Papa_Meow_Meow

LGR Thrifts is great. But I believe you have correctly judged an appropriate juncture for an end of season. I look forward to it's return and some equally sublime content to replace it in the meantime ;)

Nostalgia Nerd

Ah, that's too bad. I mean I wouldn't have minded if it looked like that screenshot; I can more or less tell that you're holding... OK, on second thoughts I have no idea what it is lol. I guess this whole thing was very off-putting. As much as I love the thrifting, maybe a break is good after all as some others have been saying.

MagikGimp

Will certainly do. And it's not really a matter of wanting to take a break from the work, so much as it is taking a break from the same type of content so frequently. Plus, doing this spends fuel, money, and takes up space in my house!

LGR

The footage is unusable, so no, I won't be showing it.

LGR

The Thrifts episodes, along with the oddware are definitely why I signed up for Patreon. I will miss the episodes, but hey man they gotta take a lot of work to produce. So, sit down and relax to some pizza obtained with a 15 year old coupon.

Tech Time With Eric

though i understand, i can still be bummed! i always got excited when there was a new LGR Thrifts

Randall Strye

Will you be using the borked footage for the last episode? I mean you can't have known it was broken until you'd uploaded it to your compy all the while thinking you'd got a new episode ready to edit. Maybe it's finally time for some Google Glass! Just kidding. ;)

MagikGimp

Sounds sensible to me. Whilst I've enjoyed the LGR Thrifts series I think a break for a while would be a good thing.

CRPG Dev

While I like "Thrifts" I do miss the "old-school" LGR a bit so this is a most welcome break.

Knifethrower

I think that may be a more sustainable approach. Do an episode when you've found something awesome or have had another suitably awesome experience.

Chris Cook

I think it's probably a good thing to take a break from Thrifts for a while for a number of reasons, not least of which is that too much of a good thing can spoil it. I love Thrifts, but I fear it was sort of taking over the main content of the channel, and I'm sure it's resulted in a bit of overflow on your end in terms of physical storage space. Take a break, get some new glasses, and come back with guns blazing in season two. Now I wanna see some more reviews/overviews for the oddball stuff you've run across!

Runefox

While you have been doing LGR Thrifts, I have always been wondering what kind of camera have you been using?

Mikkel Szklany

Completion of the construction really feels like a proper end for the season. Take your break from it, don't worry. We'll all be here when you decide to resume it. Too bad about the glasses. I guess now you need a miner's hat and a GoPro attached to it. Wouldn't look funny or anything :)

Eigen

Well, like I stated, Thrifts isn't going anywhere and they will continue. Just one more episode in this season, before Season 2!

LGR

Thrifts was the only reason I became a patreon. This kinda sucks. I'm no saying the rest of the videos are not good or something it's just I like thrifting a lot.

I'm glad to see my $1 going back to the production of your videos LGR. Hopefully, you can either get it fixed or buy another one. Either way, it was a great first season. I'll be looking forward to your next series.

Pow3rh0use

Sounds good. I pretty much enjoy all your content, which to me is a rarity among YouTubers and such. I guess it's cause I've always been a PC gamer, so finding someone with the same passion is awesome. Keep it up!

Alyxx the Rat

Certainly will!

LGR

Oh yeah, and I'm insanely grateful :) It was actually a refreshing feeling when they broke, because my thought wasn't "what do I do?!" and was more "this sucks but the patrons have my back."

LGR

There's one reason I made the choice to support you. You can replace things when they break and keep doing the awesome things you've been doing.

Matt Cain

No problem Clint, I think 15 episodes within half a year is more than someone could expect from a thrifting series. Just come back if you think you can make a good episode.

I'm thinking a few months' break. Unless I just REALLY have some amazing haul that I can't help but make an episode on

LGR

No problem!

LGR

Agreed!!

LGR

Again, I can't use it. It's a feature they've experimented with for quite some time on rare occasion but is still not available to YouTubers. Until YouTube allows it, I can't do a thing about it except upload elsewhere :) And then, no one will view it.

LGR

There's 60fps videos on YouTube already but it's not a feature that's widely available yet. 30fps headcam footage can be a little rough on large screens.

mcilrain

Well that sucks. LGR Thrifts was a nice change of pace for you and a show I enjoyed as someone who loves thrifting just as much. I found it very inspiring and a lot of fun to watch just to see what you could find. Hoping for a Season 2 very soon and thanks for the videos!

Alyxx the Rat

ah, well in the meantime SVP keeps it looking smooth!(er)

Cory M

I have several, and have recorded in 60fps for about 3 years. But seeing as YouTube doesn't allow anything over 30fps yet, it's no use.

LGR

See if you can get a camera that does 60fps.

mcilrain

Sad to see it end (for now). LGR Thrifts was one of my favorite series on YouTube but this situation is completely understandable and I just want to say thanks for providing hours of entertainment! =)

Daniel Fowler

Well, balls. That's a bummer. Those poor glasses didn't deserve to die so young!
