Sim city is awsome

Imani Jade

Well I remember looking over the shoulder of my brother looking what he was playing there. I think he was like "Oh no, that is to complicated for you" but in the end I was much better than him. Well that was SimCity2000 I didn't played the Original Simcity until 2013, hahaha and you know what came out there. Simcity 5, I paid like 80 bucks for the biggest copy. And even SimCity 5 has flaws over and over and I didn't played it much, I mean it feels like I only played it like a 20th of the time I played simcity 3000 for examply I still played about 150h. You know what that means? Yeah about SimCity 3000 I was so good that my brother never understood how I could play trough without a period of desperate need of money. My Favorite still is SimCity 4, I played the crap out of it, and I am still playing today. Even trough I don't play it to often it is ever really awesome. I remember first playing it and failing and now I built big cities naturally. I am working on the Same Region for 3 Years! Holy Crap! That is a long time playing it!. If I would have payed 400€ back than it would still be a bargain. I mußt have played over 1000hours SimCity 4. And you know according to my game worth money calculations that game would be still worth 1000€. I like how when ever I start simcity it is like a fresh breath of air, it literally never gets old. And you ever try to do something new. And you know what, I think there will be another Sequel a SimCity 6! Why so? Because even SimCity 5 had allot of flaws many people bought it, and many people who never played a SimCity before became friends with it. I guess that is the old Oldschooler vs. New Kids fight. But yeah. And maybe next time they will do it right to pleasure both or maybe they make a real piece of shit, I mean like in SimCity 5 wasn't one, I mean you could easily fix SimCity 5 in some aspects, but I mean like a real horrible game like "Plummers don't wear Ties" xxxD.^^ Anyway Happy Birthday SimCity! (A little late but okay.)

I remember seeing the box on store shelves when I was a tike, but I didn't get it - didn't get what it was trying to do, and I was there for some NES game at the time. My first experience playing it...was also not too good. I'd played 2000 over at a friend's house and was really enamored with it, so I asked my mom for Sim City. She, not knowing the difference, got me exactly that. And it was a bit fun, but my disappointment in getting the wrong one ultimately won out and had me shelve it. HOWEVER, I finally got a copy of 2000 for the Sega Saturn, and that ignited my love of the series proper, paving the way for Sim Ant, Sim Safari, 3000, and eventually The Sims and beyond. I even went back to the original years later with newfound appreciation for the awesome ideas it contained. 25 years of awesome sandbox tinkering, and it's still a worthy addition if you're looking for a management simulation that...that's just easy to get into and enjoy. Not overly complex with hundreds of hidden menus and little finicky budgetary facets that only the most persnickety of accountants can enjoy and understand. You just want to lay foundations, watch a city grow into them, and maybe sick Godzilla on it when you finally snap from Sim Copter One reporting heavy traffic all the time.

My first experience with SimCity was the SNES version, which I rented on more than one occasion, though I never actually owned the game. Then, somehow, knowledge of my enjoying that game found its way to Mom who bought me the Windows version of SimCity 2000 when it was brand new. I don't have the box for it anymore but I still have everything that came in the box and I played the heck out of it! :)

My memory of playing simcity was when I was in the 7th grade playing this in the computer lab at my junior high school. I mainly played it because I loved the music. I never understood all of the details, I just played and destroyed what little city i had.

Sim City on the SNES was my first experience with SimCity as well (same for Civilization). I loved that game and played thew heck out of it. My heart though belongs to SimCity 2k.

As someone who never had any close relationship with the games it's fascinating to hear how much of an impact they had on you. I played a bit of SC3K back when I found a demo of it on one of my dad's shareware CD's. It wasn't a mindblowing experience to me or anything but it was fun. I'm not sure what my first game was (that was completely mine), but it was either Gunman Chronicles or Deus Ex.

You sound more nostalgic and emotional in this video than any other ones I've seen from you. It was enjoyable as always. I love Sim City. Specifically the original, but the windows version of 2000 and the SNES version of the original are great too. I think I am going to have to dig them out again now. I guess saying that the original was the simplest and that is why I like it would be accurate, but then... it really was never simple so.... yeah. :)

I remember playing SimCity 2000 on my grandpa's computer way back when - I think it came with his computer, actually. But anyways, it provided a lot of entertainment for me and I would play late into the night, haha. It got to the point that later on, my parents got me SimCity 3000 for our computer at home. Never played SimCity 4 because I think I was too into The Sims series at the time... haha. Also haven't played SimCity 2013 (due to initial horribleness), but maybe one day I will play the rest of the series. :)

I really loved that game, I spent uncountable hours playing it as a kid.

I had the version with live action FMV's. I remember selecting roads and it saying out loud "Road, Ten dollars" (or however much it was) and my grandpa saying "they must be talking in thousands! He's gone now but for some reason I always remember that when I go back and play SimCity

First Sim City game I played was Sim City on the SNES. I do remember playing Sim City 2000 at school as well. I never saw it as something to learn from. It didn't get me interested in urban planning or anything. I just always tried to make the best city I could. I even tried using a rail system for transit instead of roads. I imagined fire engine trains, HA! Sim City 4 was may last Sim City game. I hear a version of the new game is coming to mobile platforms. I might look into it.
