LGR Thrifts - Episode 8

Time to see how the Goodwill store construction is coming along. You'll never guess what happens! (hint: it involves construction)

LGR Thrifts - Episode 8

Comments

It was kind of ahead of its time really. People back then didn't really think "Playing games on a phone" was a thing anyone would do, ever. Admittedly, it didn't change many people's minds with its strange form factor, the fact you had to remove the battery to change games, and not having a lot of good games for it.

Dizzy

Another great thrift trek! This series has seriously got me into doing biweekly trips to thrift stores and hole in the wall pawn shops. Making some really good finds, tons of awesome ps2 games for under 5$ and a complete gamecube copy Twilight Princess for 25$. Sadly no boxed PC games yet, though one of my friends (who also watches your stuff) scored a boxed (and sealed I believe) copy of Simcity 2000 network edition.

Yea man, i'll see about shipping it, I'd say itll be a bit pricier, since it is an old tv. It's very small about the size of a ruler but really long, old cathode tube.

Protomario

Ah okay, never used one by them. As long as it has a nice clear picture and those ports work, I'd be interested! Am looking for something very small to use as a passthrough for capturing old consoles and such. If you'd like, send me an email either through Patreon or my normal contact address listed on YouTube!

LGR

It is a Radioshack Portavision, it has video and audio in with tv/monitor settings external power and a coaxel with battery power as well.

Protomario

Is it a Sony Trinitron? That's the model/brand I'm looking for!

LGR

Hey man, I sent you a message before, but, I have found a portable TV with the AV hook ups you wanted, it works. I also have a bunch of other stuff too.

Protomario

oh yeah that thing.^^

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N-Gage_%28device%29 Nokia's failed game system!

LGR

What is an ngage?

Ezydenias

Glad to hear it :)

LGR

Haha, thanks again for that!

LGR

I laughed out loud! "and next to the adult diapers..." just cracked me up. Good episode Clint, am enjoying the thrifting episodes :-)

O_O Transarctica in the background ! I'm... I'm honored ! :)

Maximilien Noal

Well, the Dreamcast game wasn't a Dreamcast game inside the case, and it along with the others you didn't see at the end I re-donated to Goodwill (as stated in the video!)

LGR

WAIT A SECOND...what happened to the Dreamcast game that was bundled with the PlayStation and PS Games bundle? Which game was it??? Is your house on a foundation or pillars? If pillars, have you had additional load-bearing pillars installed under your shelves and cases?

Michael Hogan

Yaay a new episode one :D

StigDesign1

Understood entirely, thanks!

LGR

I actually grabbed some food, and watched this. I am very Lazy, but I think you of all people would understand that! You are awesome man.

Johannes Koch

I usually go once a week. The best thing that I've found was a complete in-box Commodore 64 for $50.25. However, I didn't have the money for it nor did I really have the space for it.

Evangeline Domenech

Awesome :)

LGR

Thanks for another great video! I have a TON of books, games and more thanks to your inspiration. I'll send a pic sometime.

Zem Hysong

Well that's unfortunate! Sounds like you at least have several places to choose from though, and if it's anything like around here, you have to go quite often to find anything good.

LGR

I haven't found much of anything in my area lately. I've got three Goodwills, a couple of DAVs, a Boys & Girls Club thrift shop, and a couple of CHKD stores. None of them have had anything good lately. I did find a TurboGrafx 16 at my local flea market last weekend, complete with Turbo Booster, but the guy wanted $150 and I already have a TG16.

Evangeline Domenech

I regret not picking it up, but I really am low on space so I try to be careful what I take in! Heh, might've been worth it to grab it, do a video, then re-donate it to Goodwill :P

LGR

Nice! It's a simple and sweet little mouse indeed

LGR

Oh man! How could you turn down Guitar Praise! The ads for both it and Step Praise always made me laugh. Another great episode by the way!

treythepunkid

Huh, you know, I have a Logitech mouse just like the one you grabbed I like using for my DOS machines. Clicks nicely. Hehe

ReeseRiverson

Awesome, another Thrifts video!
