LGR - Thrifts [Ep.7] Second Chances, Goodwills

Time for another Thrifts, rather early!

LGR - Thrifts [Ep.7] Second Chances, Goodwills

Comments

I hit up the Hendersonville Goodwills in this very episode :)

LGR

Hey LGR I remember that you live near Arden, and if you don't mind taking a small trip there is a Goodwill in Hendersonville (or maybe you've already been there). Just thought I'd throw that out to ya.

David Pruitt

Heh, I don't even wanna know what period they're from. And thanks, glad you're enjoying!

LGR

Used tampons, how old are they and what period are they from?? Clint love the thrift vids keep it up..

Colm

I just use a Google Docs spreadsheet <a href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ar-cJK68JK-3dGxtNWo4enhRMWtxWFAyMGh4dW9nR2c&amp;usp=drive_web" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ar-cJK68JK-3dGxtNWo4enhRMWtxWFAyMGh4dW9nR2c&amp;usp=drive_web</a>#gid=30

LGR

Thank so much! Anything at all helps, no worries :)

LGR

How do you keep track of all your games and computers. Are you using some type of database application? I use a php, mysql web system to keep track of my books and movies.

Became a patron today to you only a few euro cause im not that flush atm but you are the only youtuber i would consider supporting like this thanks for the great interesting videos looking forward to many more

Darkireland

Well as for now I installed three Mods, S-Video Mod, Overclocking Mod, and Multiregion Mod. But now my studies have me again.^^ Man I tell yeah Microcontroler, Communication Engineering and allot of crazy but awesome stuff.^^ But for the project I can tell you something working with a function generator to generate the clock is not as easy as it sounds, at least with the ones we have by HP. You need an Osciloscope because that freaking thing does not remotly the peak to peak you set it for.^^ Instead it is double as high even with the right resistor before it.^^ And not evne that the higher the frequenzy goes the higher the peak to peak, and it doesn't change in the function generators settings just on the outcomming. I tell you those things can be a pain I have no idea why they made them that stupid way.^^ May I have to go ask them.^^ Where was the HP Headquarter?

Ezydenias

Sounds like an awesome project.

LGR

Yuuuuup. Sigh, Goodwill!

LGR

omg somebody donated a used box of tampons

Lauren Caves

Your iMac is certainly a better deal though! Had it not been on sale, the eMac would have been $70 (and it wasn't practically NIB). Also today I stumbled upon Planix which seems to be a house planning software, and something you would be interested in. If you don't have a copy I could send it to you if everything is in the box.

Aspen Kelley

Well we don't have thrift stores like I once said we have A&Vs which comes kinda close to those stores except that they are very organized and every store has their own topic. There are ever some games but most are crap since the majority of them goes to the retro games stores. But hey if you to see some pictures of my Sega Mega Drive which I end up modding some shit into it before ever really playing on it.^^ Well I have no pictures when I tried to find the perfect clock speed, man with function generator and Osciloscop and also some documentations about the CPU, man that was some fricking awesome time.^^

Ezydenias

Oh, okay. I must've missed that, but that is very cool nonetheless. Thanks.

Zem Hysong

I always show whatever I pick up, books included! Just don't pick up very many typically. Have shown a couple in previous episodes.

LGR

Yeah, I have over 200 Books I've purchased in the past two years, and I didn't pay more than $.99 for any of them. And while I know you are a game reviewer, primarily, It would be neat to see any books you may pick up, even if they are just in the final shot.

Zem Hysong

Heh, it's really not that hard to find shelves to store these things :) Except maybe the iMac, but I just got rid of a bunch of stuff I wasn't using anymore and made room. And I really don't have much interest in boxed DVD sets since I just stream all TV shows nowadays!

LGR

I wish you luck, sir.

LGR

Oh yeah, plenty of awesome books to come across, and often the selection is overwhelming at the stores I frequent. Have several bookshelves full of fiction, biographies, technical manuals, strategy guides, For Dummies books, etc from thrift stores.

LGR

Totally, really like these G3 iMacs, and always wanted a DV.

LGR

Thanks, this was quite the satisfying haul!

LGR

I'm eagerly watching so I can be here for the moment when this series transitions from "collecting hobby" to "episodes of Hoarders". You may wish to keep a wirelessly connected camera on your person for the inevitable cave-in. BTW - You passed on an Arrested Development box set? Are you mad? And, welcome to the Slim club.

Michael Hogan

Man, I hope my trip out tomorrow morning will be this successful. I already have at least 3 iMacs, and I know I would have picked that one up/

Tech Time With Eric

Thank you for almost making me break my glasses from the intense facepalm I just did at your terrible pun. :D

Lindsay Michelle

I, once again, am re-inspired to expand my Goodwill searches. I also collect books, and I have noticed that even though those lesser known stores don't have as many "big box" games, I often find books that I am looking for.

Zem Hysong

Oh no doubt! Cool tech like that never lasts very long. I just have to be more diligent!

Jackie Stewart

Nice haul. That mac was an awesome find!

Nostalgia Nerd

Wow, an iMac! Awesome find right there! Don't know much about the games you found other than the fact they might be cool. I don't think much of it is my taste but probably worth collecting. But yeah, amazing haul!

Alyxx the Rat

Thanks! And an eMac? That is awesome, still want one of those.

LGR

Hehe, well glad you appreciated the aww-ful moments!

LGR

This was filmed several weeks ago and has been bought!

LGR

Agreed!

LGR

More than welcome, hehe.

LGR

Thanks for making me want an old iMac again.

Evangeline Domenech

Wow! That was an awesome haul!

Hot damn dude, I'd send some money for that Laserdisc player! I just can't ever seem to freaking find one down here!

Jackie Stewart

Wow! You found a lot of stuff during this thrift outing! Also, I was "aww"ing a lot during this episode, from your cute childhood memories and nostalgia to the animals in the store. I know... I'm a dork. :P

Lindsay Michelle

Oh nice find on the iMac! Right after I started watching your thrift videos, I went to my local Goodwill and found an eMac. So it's kinda funny that you found a similar computer!

Aspen Kelley

Iiinnnntresting (added to my list). Also, Code Lyoko aired in the US. It was like Dragon Tales meets the Matrix. It's on Netflix, but I can't recommend it.

Aaron Alcorn

Great! :) If you decide to, just PM me (SquallStrife) on the VOGONS forums, and I'll hook you up with all the info.

RetroSwim

That it is. Apparently it was an N64 game originally.

LGR

Glad to hear that :)

LGR

Yup, next to the haul from Episode 2 with the IBM XT, this was great.

LGR

Agreed, thanks!

LGR

Heck yeah, I was quite plesantly surprised to find that one

LGR

I'll look into it!

LGR

Winback for the PS2 is one of those games that nobody's ever heard of, but it's pretty fun once you get used to the weird controls.

Aaron Alcorn

Awesome I love these episodes they really make my day.

Marc

This was probably your best haul as of yet. That mac computer was just icing on the cake.

Jan3Sobieski

So much stuff! Awesome!

ksen

=OOOOOOOOOOOO POKEMON Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Protomario

Good find with the iMac and the Joystick! I noticed that the driver disk was in there with the joystick, would you consider making an image of the disk and contributing it to VogonsDrivers? As someone's that's posted on VOGONS a whopping 49 times, you're more than qualified to contribute! ;)

RetroSwim

You got it!

LGR

Loving the series. Keep em' coming!

Mello

:D Much appreciated

LGR

Glad to hear, certainly plan on it!

LGR

Great stuff :)

Wreckless Eating

Why thank you.

LGR

Always interesting what random thing in the background someone will recognize. And yeah, I fully expect it :P

LGR

I had that Tic Tac Toe board game that showed up in frame long, long ago as a kid. Also, that ridiculous and creepy-sounding DS game... you realize you're probably gonna get a whole bunch of requests to review it now, right? ; D

Kris Asick

Nice job on the puns.

I love watching these. It makes me want to go and see what I can find! Keep up the videos!

Valkera

Oh yeah, that's what's up.

LGR

Thanks for submitting!

LGR

Hey, there's my photo! Thanks Mr. B, I feel special now!

Nathan Max

Wow, a ceiling!
