The thing with this round and the next round, the outcome was influenced heavily by the on-site voters, because when episode 1 was released, they were already filming for the 7th ep/ 3rd round. Team Groove is mostly Korean players. And I think just like any other race, they'll be biased towards their own, and they even put in the effort to go watch live, so it means that they are either an old fan or related to the player and there to support.
Team Rythm comprises foreign players. I think the reason they can still fight head-to-head with TG even when the ep 1 was still not airing because, one, the starting players already have a foreign fanbase unconditionally voting for them even when they still haven't watched the performance; and two, they have the visuals that gain them votes from on-site supporters (that mostly are there for the Korean players).
Team Beat, unfortunately, was only carried mostly by Woongki. Especially after this round, when they lose Chih En.
The reality of svs is that they are a popularity contest. And that visuals matter more than talent.
I'm just thankful that UL still mostly lets the contestants' talent speak for them.

Watching this again, I got a newfound appreciation for Nam Do Yoon. Team Beat's situation is really tough throughout the competition, like, they need a huge determination to just keep going and improve on their performance, but Do Yoon remains so bright. And having encountered people like that is such a blessing because their mindset can really lift you up.
