Added 2025-01-15 08:07:29 +0000 UTCHey All,
On Thursday we are recording our Q&A episode for this cycle, and we've got Paul on the show for that one! So you can leave any questions you'd like answered about basically any topic you'd like :) Wonder what it was like to live with Luis in college?
Put any questions you have in the comments here and we'll get to as many as we can!

Hello! This is a question for Paul. What was the most egregious instance of you and/or Luis choosing Magic over classes? Is there a specific time that stands out?

2025-01-16 16:51:53 +0000 UTCHi Marshall and Paul, I find that I have a noticeably higher win rate in vintage cube than normal set drafts, and I’ve had a hard time pinning down why. It could just be that I’ve been playing vintage cube since it was Holiday Cube, but can you think of any skills I may be neglecting for set draft that I don’t practice with vintage cube? Thanks for all the content over the years, and great job to Paul!

2025-01-16 15:48:41 +0000 UTCHey guys, thanks the great podcast and for continuing to create limited content! I especially want to give a huge thanks to Paul for his YouTube videos, which I have found to be a huge help in leveling up my game play. I really appreciate how he always takes the time to explain his decision making process and identifying play lines, regardless of whether it's his first video of a format or his 50th. It's also been great to have Paul as a co-host while Luis has been away, and before he joined the show regularly, I was a big fan of his guest appearances. It's easy to tell you three are great friends and you natually mesh well together, and the stories are hilarious. Which brings me to my question: Could you share anything about Paul's future on LR after Luis comes back? Could be become a permanent third co-host? Or a regular guest like Sierkovitz?

2025-01-16 15:22:54 +0000 UTCHi Marshall and Paul, thanks for the entertaining and informative podcast. As a result of drafting a lot on Arena I win a lot of booster packs and crack them all at the end of the format. In doing this I have acquired a surplus of wildcards, more than I could ever use. For each set that I draft I have been collecting all the common, uncommon, and rare cards, which makes my wildcards even less necessary. I would be curious to know how many accumulated wildcards you have in your account as limited players on Arena and about how many booster packs you win per set. What do you think of a trick I have tried where I craft all the rares I have not collected from drafting a set that I have finished so that when I crack the packs it gives me more gems instead of first finishing my collection of missing rare cards? Thanks!

2025-01-16 06:02:27 +0000 UTCHey Marshall and Paul! I have a watch question, Marshall. (Hope that's okay). My brother bought me my first automatic watch for my birthday! A Vostok Amphibia. The watch is a little fast, and I'm wondering how to tell how much of that is normal for my watch, and how much is due to other factors (like magnetism). Thanks for the show, I love magic but I'm also a budding watch enthusiast.

2025-01-15 23:34:40 +0000 UTCHey Guys! Hope all is well Which set are you guys most excited for this year and on the opposite end, which set are you least excited for. The sets are Aetherdrift, Takir:Dragonstorm, UB Final Fantasy, Edge of Eternities, UB Spider-Man, and the unannounced UB (which rumors have it as Avatar: The last Airbender). Quick Question: Marshall, I know you were a Brooklyn Nets fan because of Durant. Does that mean you're now a Phonix Suns fan? If so, hope their season turns around. Take care guys!

2025-01-15 15:41:09 +0000 UTCSeems like Burglar Rat and similar cards (Virus Beetle, Nezumi Informant, etc... or even the 1MV non-creature version like Hopeless Nightmare or Ruthless Negotiation) have become mainstays in recent limited sets, and actually performing well in the right decks. When you do find it best to fire these off? On-curve? or later when they have fewer cards in hand and you're more likely to hit something big and important that they've been building towards?

2025-01-15 14:45:52 +0000 UTCMarshall, why do you always skip the foil when doing a crack-a-pack? In the Play Booster era, every paper pack has a foil in it. I'm pretty sure Arena accounts for the foil card as well, which is why you sometimes see a pack with a duplicate card in it. I enjoy listening to the the crack-a-packs, and I want to get the full experience. :)

2025-01-15 14:41:01 +0000 UTCHey LR team! Show’s great, y’all are great, Paul= great. OK! To the heater of the question…branding! When I think of the LR hosts, there is a consistent narrative that persist with each and we need to find that for Paul! So, reframing into an SAT-esque question: If LSV’s branding is “being super unlucky and never opening power” and Marshall’s is “righteous soap boxing on a set speed, then what is Paul’s? Nonsense aside, love the show as always and I leave you with the best comment I can: time spent with LR is time well spent. THANK YOU!

2025-01-15 13:24:15 +0000 UTCI’ve noticed the Vintage Cube talk has been mostly absent. I realize that Paul is playing what the people want to watch, but is Marshall more interested in FDN than the extended holiday cube this year?

2025-01-15 12:37:35 +0000 UTCThoughts on the cube schedule on Arena? Leaving us with only pioneer masters this week is a deep cut especially after having to limp through the holiday season with Foundations... a set whose best characteristic is that it isn't Pioneer Masters? Update - they've dropped Duskmourn flashback early, I am content (though still want more cube)

2025-01-15 11:24:05 +0000 UTCHello Paul and Marshall, and Jeff! Thank you once again for all your work in putting out the show! Paul, it has been great having you co-host! Thank you so much for sharing your time, talent, and insight! We've asked Marshall this before, but I'm curious to learn what are some of your favorite moments commentating from the booth? Marshall, I have been finding some of the stories behind the watches you've worked on recently pretty awesome! What are a couple of your favorite stories behind the watches that you've worked on?

2025-01-15 10:59:16 +0000 UTCHey guys, hope you are all doing well! My question is, should an opponent choosing to mulligan ever affect your own decision of whether to do so? I often find myself (intentionaly or not) re-evaluating this decision in my head once I see an opponent take the mulligan, but this seems illogical if I really think about it. Always enjoy the Q and A episodes, thanks for doing them!

2025-01-15 09:49:58 +0000 UTCAmerican Football is somewhat on the rise over here in Germany and becoming a thing more and more. We're watching together as a family at Sunday nights (American afternoon) and getting more and more accustomed to the rules. My daughter roots for the Ravens, my son for the Eagles, my wife for the Seahawks and I really love to see the Lions play this season. I often wonder, why the teams do not go for a "Hail Mary" with something like 5 seconds left on the clock just before half time, even when they are behind. Why don't they simply go for it instead of letting the clock wind down? Is the danger of a suffering a "pick 6" really higher than the chance of making a touchdown when you throw the ball deep into the opposing field as a final play? Or is there some other reason I miss? ps Love that Paul is on the show!
