Hops ends up sleeping in the night watch but it's actually ok as nothing dangerous really happened there. Once in the capital, because Hops has such a cute face, other customers at the tavern would gladly offer to pay for his pancakes! The old lady also found him cute but she doesn't show it much, you can feel she hardly opens up to other people and it would take more than cuteness and flattery to break this wall. If Hops is being attentive tho, maybe he would be able to see through the old lady hardened shell!

Oh... what a pitty, Hops seems to be too engrossed in sight-seeing and humming songs to actually pay close attention to the lady...

Taylor you clearly has his mind in the right place but it's still clouded by questions but, as he tries to summon up some of his magic, it take some time but he is able to call for some elemental powers, they are kind of weak tho but he surely had retained the abilities he had from before he was on this adventure!

It's good that you noticed stuff around the fake capital, they doesn't seem like that much of a threat right?

When you ask the high counselor about the resistance they clearly brush you off: "oh no! There is no such thing around here! People are happy and safe here and we work tirelessly to bring this safety to far and wide around us with strong magical rituals of protection! I believe the people see and appreciate our efforts that's why, I assure you good sir, if someone told you something like that it must have been a bad joke to say the least!"

Demon is not that satisfied with his answer, and so he presses for more...

Oh... you failed on obtaining for information and worse yet, the High Counselor lead the conversation to a point where you are the one replying all his questions! He asks you about where you heard such nonsensical rumor of a Resistance but as you opened your mouth Taylor casually intervenes, saying you all heard about it in the tavern at the edge of the capital! Funny how people can get so drunk so early right?!

Hops notices what Taylor is doing and quickly shows there isn't only pancakes in his mind! He mentions how nice that they found that old lady who told them the High Counselors are always available to assist people and would certainly appreciate if a bunch of adventurers would offer their help!

"Oh! So you wish to help us protect the people! That's great news!" The High Counselor accepts your offer and tell you about a Protective Ritual they are getting ready to do, he asks that you use your eagerness to help with the protection for it to be successful"

Taylor casually ask the High Counselor the reason why they needed protection. The High Counselor is taken by surprise and gasps at first before answering that the ritual takes place in the outside of the capital and there may be monsters about... Taylor knows better tho, he sees right through this lie but as things stands you all decide to prepare to do your part for this ritual.
