There’s a brilliant Danish TV series called The Investigation that shows how they found them - pretty extraordinary, they used cadaver dogs who can apparently detect human remains even through the water.

Nice guy, yes. He never tried to escape I believe, but apparently has a facebook page and a podcast. And he invites people to come around prison and visit. He should be an excellent chef. What do you know... what might end up on the plate!

No need to be patronizing, dear. Read my comment again, and you'll see that I didn't say the swedes solved it, I said the case could be solved THANKS TO the Swedes and our specially trained dogs. The Danish police would never have found her head and her limbs if it wasn't for them. And without the head they could not have ruled out Madsens story about it being an accident due to her getting slammed on the head by the hatch on the submarine. And I said he MIGHT have gone free, not that he WOULD have. Yes, he'd still probably been convicted of manslaughter, or something. But probably not murder.

Thanks Mike for telling the story. I think I encouraged it at some points a couple of months ago. It was naturally big when it hit here in Denmark back then. I think it is important to add to your story that Peter Madsen probably never planned to get away with it. He had once mentioned that he wanted to stage a spectacular crime, one that would get the attention of everyone. With his dreams about going to space being shattered, he saw his life ambition in ruins. With that... he decided it was time to fulfill his sick fantasy of committing... not the perfect crime.. but the most horrific one.

that is a bit of a stretch to say the case was solved by Sweden :D. Yes, the swedish police dogs should not be underestimated. But he would not have been acquitted regardless. they had the torso. It was more about whether they could charge him with manslaughter or 2nd degree. What the Danish chief investigator emphasize in his memories is the fact, that it was important to find all body parts, not least for the sake of the family. But thanks to swedish police dogs for assisting in the case, not solving it ;)

Loved the line about rotten in Denmark. Regarding the story, horrible story and it leaves everyone close to the victim second guessing what they should have done. Very tragic. I wonder how much of his perversion those from his his company knew.

What a waste...that beautiful, bright women with a fascinating future ahead of her...taken out by a sick MF’er like this freak. Makes me sick. I have a feeling the prisons where he is aren’t too tough, especially if he escaped that easily. He deserves so much worse. If he had escaped a Florida prison or a Louisiana chain gang they would have just shot him in the back when he was running away. God bless the USA. 😉

The fact that this case was solved is all thanks to Sweden. They found her head and her limbs thanks to Swedish search dogs. They took the dogs out on boats onto the bay, and the dogs could smell the body parts even though they were deep down in the water, it was windy and it's a huge bay. Pretty fucking incredible! The Danish were very skeptical towards the dogs and doubted their ability to find anything out there. But without those dogs they never would have found the body parts and Madsen might have gone free. We really like our police dogs here in Sweden. ^.^

I actually felt a bit guilty watching him before and skipping ads so here I am. I truly like this channel better than any and much more than tv.
